Morning all, it's another dry day, at least it's supposed to be until about 2pm but that changed from when I looked yesterday so changed things around so that I could do my washing tomorrow when it's supposed to be dry all day until about 8pm. Hope it doesn't change again by the morning! I like to soak my whites overnight so that they don't need such a long wash in the machine so really hoping that it is dry tomorrow otherwise it'll end up on the airer!
@Mrbowie - one of the best things to do apart from menu planning is batch cooking, particularly things like curries, casseroles, a mince base which you change to make various meals like chilli, bolognaise just by adding herbs/spices etc.
Hope you like wholemeal bread as that's all you can have as HEB unless you are happy to use gluten free as there are a few of those that are also HEB. If you have fairly recent books then you'll have most of the syn values of other things. You'll be pleased to know that 35g of Halloumi is HEA. When you did SW before was it 2 HEA and 1 HEB? If it was then your books are probably up to date as there hasn't really been much in the way of changes since that was introduced.
I don't go to group now and am just using this thread and my books although for some reason sticking to plan hasn't been working for me recently so I have just had a week completely off plan and amazingly I've actually lost 0.5lb!!! Still means I'm quite a bit above my target weight range and still need to lose about 4lb to get back to the top end of the range but at least it's a move in the right direction!
So today's plan:
B - boiled eggs, soldiers
L - ham salad
D - pork steak, mash, peas a la Francais, green beans
HEA - milk
HEB - bread
Syns - LF spread 3; piece of cake 12? (small piece home made Manor House cake)
Have a good day everyone.1 -

Not too bad a day, I had wholemeal toast forward breakfast + strawberries and a satsuma.
Lunch was left over stew (mainly veg and pots) slice of melon and grapes.
Snack banana and nectarine.
Dinner I took the skin off 3 heck chicken italia sausages and made a patty which I had on a protein bagel thin with a bit of grated cheese, sw chips lettuce spinach Tom's onions peppers and cucumber.
Skimmed milk for brews.
So, not strictly sw but testing some meals out, it's a start.
I'm going to try and eat more eggs/chicken etc.
I'm going to aldi tomorow does anyone know the syn value for the protein lemon cheesecake? I think I would like that with oats for overnight oats.
Thankyou x

I should be arriving in Turkey just about now but still at home!
DH went to GP on Monday who sent him to A&E and they admitted him. Turns out the stomach pains were inflamed gall bladder. The plan is to keep him in until the inflammation has calmed down before he can come home. Then it's likely they'll remove it in the autumn.
I had to stop on the way back from the hospital yesterday to buy some eggs, potatoes and salad stuff as I'd run all the fresh food down before going away.
Meal plan doesn't exist this week but I have eaten more or less SW friendly although some extra wine syns have been consumed.
At the moment I just seem to be back and forth to the hospital but fortunately it's not far away (3 miles).
Be back soon. 😊

So sorry about DH @maman. Hope the hospital are keeping him comfortable x
Welcome @Mrbowie - as others have said, just ask if you need any help/syn values x
I took a holiday week from group at the last minute. Just too much going on with Dad staying and work a nightmare - don’t ask. In other news we are viewing a house at the weekend eeek!I spent Saturday and Sunday eating all the wrong things - especially cake as it was DSis and Mums birthdays. Have been super strict and on it since then. Will go to group this week then it’s the wedding aaaargh!Cross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings0 -
Sorry to hear your DH is in hospital @maman; hopefully it won't be for too long. I assume you'll be able to claim on your travel insurance for the lost holiday? Do you think you'll rebook once DH is home.
As long as you enjoyed the wrong things at the weekend and they weren't wasted syns @Coxy11! Good luck for this week's WI.
Hope the house viewing goes well at the weekend.0 -
@maman, so sorry that OH is in hospital, but hope that he is beginning to be more comfortable.
@Coxy11, gosh you do have a lot to deal with at the moment, fingers crossed things resolve soon, good luck with the house viewing.
@Mrbowie, just shout out if you need any Syn values.
@bubbs your food pics inspire me not to be lazy and make better choices.

Went to WI last night 1/2 lb gain after holiday, not bad, but really would like a whole pound loss by next week, should be easy in theory, but not so in practice sometime, sitting nicely half way in target range, would feel safer if a bit lower though.
Made a double portion of Chilli today, curry and a pasta bake to follow, will be nice to have some more HM meals in the freezer, tho' it is rammed with ingredients. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0
