Morning all, had a good, if off plan weekend and it was great to catch up with DD2 and her partner. I probably had at least a week's syns over the weekend with wine and cake! So back to it today.
Welcome @Mrbowie, hope SW works for you better than WW. I know lots of people who changed to SW from WW and found they lost weight easily.
Today's plan:
B - bacon omelette
L - pulled pork in BBQ in soft pitta with salad
D - sweet and sour pork, rice
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - soft pitta
Syns - will probably have a couple of Biscoff biscuits with a cuppa this afternoon 4
Have a good day everyone.1 -
Been AWOL again but this time due to a bout of labyrinthitis. Only second time I’ve ever had it and it was pretty horrid. My balance was completely out and the nausea was awful especially if I tried to read or watch TV so lots of lying in bed doing nothing. Food wise I’ve lived on dry toast with jam and yesterday introduced soup, 🥳
Antibiotics and sickness tabs finish today and I’m feeling loads better. I can walk without staggering and have had a shower. I’m craving fruit and veg so this week will be full of salads I think.
Hope you are all well and I’ll catch up with all your news over the next few days.0 -
Sorry to hear you've been poorly @Jellybaby. Hope the toast and jam diet hasn't done too much damage. 🤞
At least you enjoyed your syns over the weekend @joedenise. Perhaps you'll lose this week. 🤣
DH still not feeling too good but really hoping all will be well for our holiday.
Today's plan -
B- HEB toast, bacon, egg (P), baked beans (F), HEA milk for drinks
L- ham (P), hash of LO veg (F, S)
D- salmon (P), SW chips (F), broccoli, tomatoes and mushrooms (S)
Syns - maybe 1 for infused salmon1 -
Evening all 😁
Welcome Mr bowie, good luck.
Denise glad you had a nice weekend and i am opposite to you, i know a few people who left SW and went WW as they couldn't get on with SW my sister included and they have done amazing, my sister has been target for about a year, she only had about a stone to lose , a friend who went SW for about 2 yrs and was heavier than when she started switched to WW and has lost 5st in 8 months 😯 WW is very much like SW now though.
Jelly hope are soon fully back to normal.
Maman hope your DH is better very soon, when do you go away?

I also went AWOL again @Jellybaby but thins time because I was busy. Hope you're feeling better now!
Loving the food pics @bubbs, really craving a burger now!
Just popping in quickly but I did lose 1lb last week which is a good start to getting back on track. Breakfast today was the last of my bran flakes and blueberries. Lunch is going to be a picky salad plate in a minute because I'm hungry and dinner is some kimchi "fried" rice because I still have so much kimchi that I need to work through before we (hopefully) move.

Morning all, it's a dry brightish morning so have done a machine load of washing and have it hanging on the line. The load I washed yesterday dried overnight on the airer and is now put away! Only one more load to go so hopefully I can get that washed and dried tomorrow but need to check the forecast.
Popped out to buy some more compost and farmyard manure so have been out in the garden planting out some courgettes. Got some aubergines but they're still too small to be planted out at the moment - only have their first leaves so think it'll be a while before they can be potted on and then into the garden later.
Hope you're feeling better @Jellybaby. Sounds really bad how you were.
Hope your DH is feeling better today @maman and that he's OK for your holiday. Not long to go now is it?
Well done on your lb loss @ruby_eskimo. When are you hoping to move? Have you actually found somewhere yet or are you still looking?
Today's plan:
B - toasted bacon sandwich
L - sweet chilli noodles with salad bits plus some chopped up ham
D - HM doner kebab meat, chips, corn on the cob
HEA - milk
HEB - bread
Syns - LF spread 3; sweet chilli sauce 3; frozen chips 4.5
Have a good day everyone.0 -

Bloody cold today!!
No chance of getting washing dry out here with the heavy showers we have had.
Well done Ruby on your loss 👏👏

Hi all thankyou for the welcome backs, im slowly getting into the right headspace to start sw, im going to try and do it from the book and what I can find online before joining a class, I do still pay for the ww app till Feb I think it is, so can't really afford to pay both, hope folk won't mind if I ask for syn values?
There's a few reasons I find it hard to get in the groove, firstly my OH doesn't like a lot of food that I like, he hates onions and only eats corn or peas, so making meals to share is hard work and expensive, then there's my son who's trying gluten/cows milk etc free to help with ibs, by the time it comes to my meals I usually eat whatever! I feel like I've lost track of myself. I'm still within my goal at ww but with the menopause plus I'm 60 now I feel I've gained a swimming ring (the weight around stomach butt and hips). I'd like to lose 7lbs and I think I'd be happy around 9st 6lbs. Also a hurdle is I work 6am starts 3 days a week and don't get a break, so on those days it can be 11am before I get my breakfast, then it's nearly lunchtime.
Anyhoo enough excuses, today I will spend planning some meals, tomorrow I'll have a look in aldi and do a bit of me food shopping. Any tips greatly appreciated, I'm not a veggie but also don't eat a lot of meat, I love halloumi but not overly keen on fish, otherwise I like most foods.
Have a good day folks x

Ps I love bread, and have a weird thing that I like things on bread, im sure it stems from childhood where my dad used to say have bread with your meal to fill you up! Bread will probs be where most syns would go!
Also does anyone know the syns for the mayflower hot curry sauce powder from scratch? I'm thinking for tea I'd have the heck sausage curry sauce sw chips and veg for tea tonight. X0
