Afternoon all, the forecast said there wouldn't be any rain until this afternoon but it started at 10am. I didn't have any washing to do so at least that didn't get wetter - my neighbour put some out about 9am and I thought then she'd be lucky for it not to get wet as it looked really dark! Fortunately she noticed and both her and husband ran out to get the washing in before it got too wet!
@maman - I've always counted plan salmon fillets as Syn Free/Protein and will continue to do so. I can understand marinaded salmon to have syns but not plain.
We had the steak from Muscle Foods a couple of days after I got the order and they weren't particularly good, last night's can from our local butchers when he had a decent offer on - they were quite thick sirloin steaks so needed a decent amount of cooking and they were still nice and rare which is how we like them.
The sausages we had today were Muscle Foods - just the pork sausages and they were no better than the Cumberland ones so have dumped the rest of them and will just continue to get our low fat ones from the butcher. The only thing we bought and has been OK was the Extra Lean mince and even that wasn't really Extra Lean as you could see the fat in it so will be continuing to buy the 5% mince either from the SM or the free flow stuff from Iceland.
Today's plan:
B - sausage sandwich
L - sweet chilli noodles
D - chana masala, rice, mini naan
HEA - milk
HEB - bread
Syns - sausages 2; sweet chilli 3; mini naan 4.5 (I think!)
Have a good day everyone.0 -
I'll be interested in what you think of the M&S Food place @Jellybaby. I suppose it's good for an occasional treat but personally I wouldn't shop there every week. I think they're trying to catch up on yesterday's day off.
Musclefoods is one experiment you won't be repeating then @joedenise. It was worth a try though. I wonder if the quality has gone down in recent years as they used to have a good reputation for high quality, lean protein. 🤔
The salmon was lightly smoked but it shouldn't have added syns. The Aldi ones are free so I'll stick to those in the future. 😊
It's overcast here but rain has held off so far. Today we've got loads of workmen around and another skip has just arrived. I think they're trying to catch up on the day missed yesterday. I got out for a walk this morning and dancing tonight so plenty of Body Magic. You're doing really well with the running @Coxy11.@Coxy11
Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA 1 milk for drinks, bacon, egg (P), beaked beans (F)
L- cold pork (P), fried veg and pickles (S)
D- Spaghetti Bolognese (P,S,F), HEA2 Parmesan
Syns- 00 -
You're right - I definitely won't be using Muscle Foods again. You're right they used to have a really good reputation. After I'd done my order my DD2 asked if I'd ordered any chicken, which I hadn't, and she said she'd ordered some a while back and they were gross! Wish she'd told me at the time rather than after I decided to do an order!0

That's a shame about MF @joedenise. DD is weight training at the gym and being mindful of protein (ie. lots!) I had thought about a bulk order for her, but will avoid now! She is having 2 gammon steaks plus some ostrich steaks tonight as is the only one eating here. DH is out in London with an ex-work colleague and I have fish and chips at the WI - will take off the batter to avoid belly ache, and only have a few chips.
Yes the running does me so much good @maman. I wasn't in the least sporty at school and used to walk the 800m!! The run home is just over 2 miles, so a decent distance. Won't be doing it until Friday now as don't fancy slipping over on a wet pavement!
Lunch today was HM spicy BNS soup, a WM soft pitta with a sliver of cheese, ham and lettuce, plus 2 mini crustless quiches. Was so full up afterwards. Had my melon snack when I got home.

Morning all, another damp overcast day today but at least I don't need to go out until after lunch. Have a nurse appointment for my COPD review but a quiet day other than that.
That was an absolutely amazing £1.50 box @bubbs plus some decent free fruit from the Lidl Spin game. I did my shopping in there yesterday and I've won a pack of 4 ready to eat avocados! Probably not the best SW thing to win but it's a free gift! Not something I'd normally buy but I'm sure I'll be able to make use of it. Just wish Lidl was my local shop rather than having to travel the opposite direction to Morrisons or Tescos.
Today's plan:
B - egg sandwich
L - prawn salad
D - chicken kebab (no pitta)
HEA - milk
HEB - bread
Syns - LF spread 3; oil on kebab 2?
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all, we have weather warnings for heavy rain and thunder for the next two days 🥲
@maman I liked the M&S food centre as a treat to walk around and get some ideas! I was very tempted but the prices put me off - and no yellow stickers to be seen😂 I did buy some fruit, bread and Percy’s for DS2 🤣 I could have got it all at my local shop but did enjoy the experience as it’s set up very similar to European food courts. My eyes will be peeled for a box tomorrow, our new shopping day @bubbs. I admire your commitment to running @Coxy11
Today’s food:
B - bran flakes HEXB, yoghurt 0.5, apple
L - veggie omelette with pickles
D - chicken and chorizo pasta with side salad. Going to count 6 for my share of chorizo, may be less once I see it cut up
Have a good day everyone.0
