Morning all, looks like we've had rain overnight but I didn't hear it!  I'm still trying to catch up with lack of sleep on holiday!  Our room was on a main road and opposite a Mosque!  Call to worship started at 5am and ended at 11pm and it was really quite loud!

I very rarely do any ironing except when I'm dress making as it's necessary then to flatten the sewn seams.  Having said that I had to iron some of DH's shirts and trousers before we went on holiday as they'd been in crushed in the wardrobe since the last holiday so really creased.  Think it's time for him to have a good clearcut - he's obviously got too many clothes!!!  He actually has a wardrobe in the bedroom and another in my sewing room so definitely more clothes than me!

    Today's plan:

    B - BLT
L - chicken curry (from freezer), rice, mini naan
D - Moussaka meatball bake, salad (SlimmingEats recipe - new to me)

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
Syns - LF spread 1.5; mini naan 9; cornflour 1; 10% lamb mince?

Can someone let me know how many syns 10% fat lamb mince is please?

I know I'll be over syns today but have only used 10.5 syns so far!

    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning all.
welcome home joedenise. I’m glad you had a good time despite the noise from the mosque.
Bank holiday food looks like this:-
    Hea milk and cheese
    Heb soft pitta
    B banana
L soft pitta with tuna, sweetcorn, cuc and a wee bit of L Mayo (2)
D pizza chicken with new potatoes and large chopped salad
Snacks might have a kvarg yogurt after dinner or even a hobnob. I’ll see how full I am after.

Got a busy gardening/washing/ironing/cleaning day today. Might even do a bit of meal prep whilst the oven is on.
Back to work in the morning. Will be in my room by 7 awaiting the onslaught of bank holiday ailments. Heyho, I blummin’ love it really.
enjoy today, whatever you are up to!

I'll be pleased to hear what you think of the meatball moussaka recipe @joedenise. The 10% lamb is 2 syns for 100g. I'm sure the lamb will give a more authentic taste but beef mince would probably work just as well without the syns.

My DH probably has more clothes than me too. Last week, on one of the rare sunny days, he decided to get his summer clothes out and I couldn't believe how many pairs of chinos he has! I don't bother ironing our holiday clothes as they always get creased over the winter so I just fold them, put them in the wardrobe and then iron before we go away. We have those big Ikea boxes rather than take up hanging space.
HEMMAFIXARE storage case, fabric striped/white/grey, 44x51x19 cm - IKEA
The only exceptions are things we might wear in this country. That's sometimes never unless we have a good summer.🤞🏼

I iron tea towels @bubbs but not our bedding. The exception is the guest room bedding as I always like that to look pristine for visitors.😉

Today's the last day before the builders arrive in the morning. DH is moving the washing machine from the soon to be no more conservatory into the kitchen. That means the dishwasher has to go.😢 DH reminded me that we washed up by hand for a while when the last dishwasher packed up during lockdown but I told him that we didn't have anything else to do at the time! I'll miss not being able to hide the dirty dishes away all day until the evening.

    Back to SW!🤣

I'm keeping up with my food diary. It really does force me to think carefully about any odd syns. I've got plenty of syns left for the next few days but don't really plan to use any. Although I was still in target range when I weighed myself at the surgery last Friday, I had gained a bit from the week before so I'm trying hard to keep as close to plan as possible. I've got a couple of meals out and a cream tea coming up so I'm trying to be extra good at home. The GP's scales weigh a bit heavier than SW and I've weighed after lunch in different clothes from group but it's a good guide.

    Today's EE plan-
B- HEB porridge, HEA milk, berries (S), banana (F)
L- ham (P), fried veg and pickles (S)
D- cold chicken (P), SW chips (F), roast Mediterranean veg, green stuff (S)
    Syns- 0

Thanks for the syn value for the 10% lamb mince @maman - looks like I vastly over-estimated @10!  It'll only be 2.5 each so will actually be within syns at 14.5.

Going out later to pick up a couple of Too Good to Go bags - one from Morrisons and one from a new Welcome Store (apparently it part of the Co-op) so no idea what we're likely to get although it does say there might be meat which is something there never is in the Morrison bags!

I've finally managed to finish this month's menu plan!  It may of course change especially if there's anything in either of the TGTG bags which need using immediately!

That's good that your neighbour has joined SW @bubbs. She won't need to go far for advice. 😁

Hope the TGTG bags were decent @joedenise. If they had junk in them, I can't see Joe's return to SW lasting long.🤣

Must have missed that @bubbs about your neighbour joining SW.  @maman is right she won't have far to go for advice!

The moussaka meatball bake was OK but I actually think it would be better with beef or beef/pork meatballs - the lamb was a bit dry.  The sauce was nice though so will definitely make that again.  DH really enjoyed it.

Both TGTG bags were quite good.  The only thing in the Morrison's bag which wasn't was a box of 5 chocolate doughnuts!  DH has eaten one!!!  The other 4 have been frozen for him to have once he's lost a bit of weight (his words not mine!).  There was a bag of organic onions (all very small); a couple of loose onions, a huge jacket potato; sweetheart cabbage, pack of Protein bagel thins (are these HEB?) which have been frozen; an orange, an apple, couple of bananas, box blueberries, 2 boxes of strawberries, 2 big leeks, 1/2 a baguette which we binned plus the doughnuts already mentioned!

The Welcome store bag was better in some ways as it hadn't been made up and the guy just took us into the shop to pick what we wanted up to a value of £10 of the YS stuff but had to include some sandwiches!  I picked a ham and cheese on wholemeal for me and a all day breakfast one for DH which we'll have toasted for lunch tomorrow!

At the reduced section we picked a couple of boxes of prawns, half a cooked chicken, 2 chicken breasts - all of which have been frozen.

Not bad for a total cost of £6.39!  £3.09 for Morrisons and £3.30 for the Welcome store.

Only problem now is that I've got the Musclefoods order coming on Wednesday and not sure I'll get it all in - might have to call DD1 and see if she's got any space in her freezers!

That was an excellent haul @joedenise, especially the prawns. 😋
