I've done ham like that before @maman and have to say we've really enjoyed it but as you say it's a bit of a faff and time consuming too!

You did the right thing with getting plenty of batch cooked meals made before the kitchen work started.  Have to you got enough to last until the work's finished?

Agree it's a bit of a faff @joedenise which is why I probably only double cook the ham rarely! 🤣

I probably do have enough ready meals to last but, as I mostly do my batch cooking in the SC, I can always make more if needed. 😊

When we had our kitchen done we left our builder to get on with it and went off on holiday!  He'd already done quite a bit of work for us so knew we could trust him.  He sent us updates via WhatsApp with lots of photos so we could see what he'd done.  He hadn't quite finished all the work when we got back but at least the kitchen was usable!

Good that you probably have enough meals but as you say you can always make more in the SC.

  • Hi. I’ve been MIA again but I have been on plan.
Some of you may remember that I got back from my hols 6 weeks ago. I go away again tonight for 9 days to Spain. I’ve managed to lose 7.5lbs since I got back so I’m happy as I’ve lost the last holiday gain and got in front giving myself a bit of wriggle room for any gain when I come home.
I’ll report my gain when I get back and my target for the remainder of 2024.
    stay well everyone xx

Afternoon all, the forecast was for rain all day today but it actually stayed dry this morning which I was glad about as we decided to go for a mooch round the charity shops!  DH managed to find a nice thick hoodie/cardi and I got a thick and a thin cardigan.  I've been looking for another thin cardi for the evenings when we go on holidays as it can often be chilly and I've only got a couple so it was nice to find another one.  It's a creamy colour so will at least go with anything.  My thick one is also a creamy colour so again will go with anything.

It started raining quite heavily just as we sat down for lunch - so glad it waited until we got home!  It's stopped again now so it was just a short, sharp shower.

I ended up with having 1 syn yesterday for some 0% G&Ts as wanted a cold drink but didn't fancy squash or ginger beer so tonic it was but I have to have something in it so decided the 0% gin was definitely the best bet for the lower syns!

Well done of shifting your holiday weight gain and a bit more @Matron_Midge and giving yourself a bit of wiggle room for the next holiday starting tonight!  Enjoy Spain.  At least it's going to be warmer than it is here!

    Today's plan:

B - cinnamon swirls, yoghurt - F; 10 (a Pinch of Nom recipe - a bit of a faff but nice enough but not something I'll be making again and certainly not worth the 2 syns each they were!)
    L - scrambled eggs on toast - HEB; P
    D - Fakeaway KFC; SW chips; corn on the cob; beans - P; S; F;

    HEA - milk
    HEB -  bread
Syns - 5 cinnamon swirls 10!  (have enough left for another 2 breakfasts which have been frozen)

Have a good day everyone and hope the weather isn't too bad where you are.

    Afternoon all 😁

Been a beautiful day here today but  now getting chilly, DH is just lighting the fire 😍

Denise, dinky feet , because of my insoles i usually have to have 7.5, usually depending on shoe/boot 7, but because they are a good wide fit, 6.5!! Oh yes it's not just my feet, if my feet are not right i have alot of problems with my knee 🙄

Maman, we did go there, wasn't too impressed with Ironbridge tbh, but then alot is not open because of the time of year but Blister Hill was fabulous, the fish and chips and rocky rd was nice too 😂😂 We bought a yearly ticket and are planning on going back next year but will stay nearer , bloody sat nav takes us down all the back 1 track rds!!

    MM have a lovely holiday

Think I'd look a bit daft with size 7.5 feet - I'm only 5' tall!

Well done on your loss @Matron_Midge. Have a great time on your holiday and then sort out the gains when you get back. 👍

Pleased you enjoyed Blists Hill @bubbs, it's a fascinating place. Agree there's not much to keep you in Ironbridge once you've looked at the bridge although it was an amazing feat of engineering in its day.

10 syns is a good enough reason to cross cinnamon swirls off the menu @joedenise. 🤣

    Today's plan -
B- HEB toast, eggs (P), baked beans (F), HEA milk
    L- lentil soup, sardine salad (P, F)
D- gammon (P), fried potato (F), tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower (S)
    Syns - 0
