Afternoon all, back from our night away.  We had a very enjoyable time and a great meal even though I ended up with a completely vegetarian starter and main!  There was nothing on the starter menu that I fancied so I had something from the "While you wait" menu as my starter!  The vegetarian option was the only thing on the menu which didn't come with chips!  The menu was also completely different to the one they had online where I'd picked out 2 options from both the starter and main menus - none of which were on the actual menu.

I had piquant peppers stuffed with garlic and herb soft cheese to start; followed by butternut squash hotpot topped with salt baked baby potatoes and served with roasted root veg.  Don't think it would have been particularly synful apart from probably some flour to thicken the gravy and a bit of oil to roast the veg.  Anyway line drawn and back on plan from today.

    Today's plan:

    B - fry up - P; S; F; 1
    L - LF burger, onions, pitta, gherkin slices - HEB; S; F; 0.5
    D - beef stew, mash - P; S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - soft pitta
    Syns - sausage 1; burger 0.5; couple of G&Ts 6

    Have a good day everyone.

Glad you had a good time @joedenise. The meal sounds good, wise SW choices and definitely better than pub grub. I always enjoy places where everything isn't deep fried. So many pubs and restaurants seem to employ 'burger flippers' rather than proper chefs.

Sorry to hear you are still poorly @TakeItEazy. Hopefully it'll be one of those colds that comes and goes quickly. 🤞

I'm attempting a chicken dinner tonight. I bought some ready cooked chicken fillets and, when I was reading the freezer instructions, I noticed they can be warmed up in the microwave. We'll have to have granule gravy but needs must. 🤣 I'll tart it up with a bit of stock cube and vegetable stock.

I boiled a gammon joint earlier and the stock from that is in the SC for lentil soup. It's been a miserable day here, raining on and off and quite chilly so definitely soup weather.

    Today's plan -
B- HEB toast, egg (P), baked beans (F), HEA milk for drinks
    L- Spanish omelette (P, S, F), salad (S)
    D- chicken dinner (P, S, F)
    Syns - gravy 4, weekend wine 😁

DH is definitely trying to sabotage my weight loss journey!  He's now booked us a week away in the motorhome down at Salisbury in a couple of weeks time.  I'll have to check what I've got in the freezer to take with us as definitely don't want to be eating out too often - not good for the weight loss and not good for the bank account!

Yesterday we called at Ludlow on the way , i was REALLY naughty yesterday, had shop bought pizza and salad for tea but hadn't really had anything all day so was still starving! So i then ate 3/4 of a big bag of crisps and half a big box of Maltesers 🤣🤣

Today we have been to Kidderminster for a wander around, but came back as was getting more and more dull, the bloody sat nav took us down these single track rds 🙄 said hope i don't meet a tractor! It's raining now but i am cooking a roast chicken. I had 2 slices wholemeal toast and made  banana sandwich out of it.  So better food wose today, i am not beating myself up with what i eat this week, i have a week before i get weighed when i go back and will be extra on plan then, i am expecting a gain, i am on holiday, longs i am not out of target (or by much) i will be happy

@bubbs welcome to Shropshire, so pleased that your cottage is good, log fire sounds just the thing today. Rather a lot of those roads around here, I am not a fan in spite of being born and passing my driving test locally, got used to driving a smallish car and better roads  family car is much bigger.

Weather forecast better fo tomorrow hopefully

Morning all, cold but dry this morning.  Got most of the washing dry on the airer overnight so that's folded and put away apart from a couple of bits.

The cottage sounds lovely @bubbs - love a roaring log fire but can't stand the mess they make!  Wrap up warm and get out and about and enjoy your holiday.  Just enjoy whatever syns you have; you'll be back on plan as soon as you get back and will manage to shift it and still be in target.

Going to have our flu and covid jabs this morning, not looking forward to them to be honest as I never feel brilliant after them and have trouble sleeping as well.  But better a bit of discomfort for a day or 2 than to get either disease.

    Today's plan:

    B - eggs on toast - HEB; P
    L - lentil soup, 1 slice of bread - P; S; F; 3
D - roast gammon joint, roast potatoes, roasted carrots, green veg - P; S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
    Syns - bread 3; cereal bar 4

    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning all,

Very jealous of your roaring fire 🔥 @bubbs.  Have a lovely time.

I need to book my flu jab. hope you don’t have any after affects @joedenise.  DS1 who lives abroad currently has covid. In his line of work it’s inevitable and thankfully only heavy cold symptoms. Mind you the city he’s in is experiencing some ‘strong’ earthquake rumbles so he has more to think about!

I’ve a busy morning out at various appointments and need to pick up a click and collect order in the next town. I’m planning a soup session this afternoon - lentil, tomato and red pepper and chicken noodle.

    Food today:
    B - 45g bran flakes HEXB, fruit, Kvarg 0.5
L - baked potato, cheese HEXA, salad
    D - chilli with rice

    Have a good day everyone!

It's soup everywhere today! 🤣 It must be something to do with the weather and @bubbs making us jealous of her log fire. 😁

    That's quite a range you're making @Jellybaby, do you have a soup maker?🤔

I've made lentil like you @joedenise after boiling the gammon joint. It's a really nice lean  piece (sampled some yesterday😋) which we'll have tomorrow or later in the week. I also had a small bowl of soup last night. Well, you have to taste things! 🤣

Today I'm going to be frying fish which I haven't done in decades. I always bake fish as it's easy and seems to cut down on the smell hanging around.

    Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, scrambled eggs (P), tomatoes (S), HEA milk for drinks
L- ham (P), LO veg and pickles (F,S)
D- pan fried cod (P), potatoes (F), carrots and green stuff (S)
    Syns- 0

Unfortunately I've only made the lentil soup from a stock pot this time as the gammon joint is one I'm going to roast with a honey and mustard glaze for dinner tonight so as not boiling it they'll be no stock.  Will definitely be getting a boiling joint next time as it makes a much nicer soup with the gammon stock!

@maman I do have a soup maker. I find it really handy when I’ve different ones on the go like today. However, anything with lentils or rice (never barley, that’s the devil’s food 🤣) I put in the slow cooker or stove as I find it sticks/burns in the soup maker.
