Shame about the bungalow @Jellybaby but best not to offer unless it's completely right including the location.  It's the one thing about where I live - like the area as it's nice and quiet as it's a bit off the beaten track but also means it's not close to shops or anything.  It's nearly a mile to the bus stop down a fairly steep unmade road - not too bad going down as long as it's not been raining but not so good getting back up!  It's got so bad that most taxis won't even drive up here anymore.  Dreading it if it gets to the point I can't drive to get anywhere!

Glad you enjoyed your roast @bubbs - it's definitely been a while since you've had one.

We didn't get the forecast rain so it's been bright and sunny all day but has been a bit windy.  Spoke to DD1 earlier and she said she's been sitting in the garden all day apart from a bit of time washing and sterilising jars to jar up her honey because there's a big spider in her living room!!!  I've no idea why she's terrified of them as I certainly aren't - I'm the one who gets rid of them in our place!  She thinks she got about another 30 jars of honey to jar up and label today - about the same as last month.  Think she's going to be having honey with everything!

She's hoping to @bubbs.  It's lovely honey - she gave me a jar of the last batch - it's very light.  She said this batch is a bit stronger so obviously feeding on different plants at this time of year.  She's thinking about trying to sell of the local Facebook selling page.

Morning all, it's another lovely day bright and sunny with a slight breeze.  Machine load of washing done and out on the line.

Need to do some shopping this morning - the list is longer than I expected it to be considering it's only a couple of weeks until our holiday and my menu plan includes quite a few things from the freezer!  I got another 2 x 2 portions of keema curry frozen so it's well worth making it in the slow cooker and to be honest I think the longer cooking than it gets on the hob made quite a big difference to the flavour.

Once I've been shopping (or I may leave until tomorrow) is to slow cook a sausage and bean cassoulet - again one to eat and hopefully 4 (2 x 2) portions for the freezer!

    Today's plan:

B - toasted cheese sandwich, picked onions
    L - tuna salad
D - toad in the hole, potatoes and veg

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - bread

    Syns - flour 4.5; sausages 2

    Have a good day everyone.

I’m frozen! @beanielou I’m starting to layer up as it’s too early to put the heating on 🙈

Will go out soon to pick up books from the library then just have a pottering kind of day with a few household jobs, or maybe not 🤣

    Today’s food:
B - bran flakes HEXB, strawberries, yoghurt 0.5
    L - lentil soup
D - salmon, new potatoes, roasted broccoli, carrots, onions and tomatoes

    Have a good day everyone.

I'm not going to tell you that it's warm and sunny here @beanielou and @Jellybaby. 😉

I think you're doing the right thing about the bungalow @Jellybaby. We bought our house because it has brilliant access to public transport (bus, train and plane) . Our reasoning at the time was that we wouldn't have to taxi our girls around but it works well for us now and in the future if we don't drive.

I agree that weighing too often can be a bit of an obsession @SingleSue. We don't have scales at home but recently I've been popping into the GP's surgery to use their scales perhaps once a week. As I only go to WI every 8 weeks, it keeps me on track.

I always do my keema in the SC @joedenise, same for chilli, savoury mince and Bolognese. I agree the flavour is better than cooked on the hob on the day and I generally get 4 meals from it. The spices seem to marinate, even in the freezer.

I had a lovely day yesterday and ate well. After my SW breakfast (scrambled eggs and tomatoes) and I was able have a JP (cheese and beans) as we went out for lunch. DH made his own dinner before I got home so I just ate some of the LOs from Sunday when I got in. After driving 250+ miles return trip I had a couple of glasses of wine to relax so not all good.

    Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks, eggs (P), baked beans (F)
L- cold pork (P), LO veg and pickles (F,S)
D- haddock (P), potato cubes (F), carrots, roast cauliflower, mushrooms, green stuff (S)
    Syns- 0

Sounds like you had a pretty good day food wise yesterday - even a couple of glasses of wine shouldn't take you over syns unless they were large ones!

TIE - premium sausages are 5.5 syns each - would assume that's what the Tesco Finest are.  Standard sausages are 4.5.
