Good to see you posting again @SingleSue. You've done so well despite all the obstacles. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

I can empathise with a lot of what you've been through. We had to decorate my aunt's HA flat before handing it back despite it being in better condition than when she took it on. My DH had cholecystis back in June so we had to cancel our holiday. He's supposed to be operated on in the next few weeks but he's scheduled for keyhole surgery so I expect yours will be more complex because of your other conditions. Plus we currently have very makeshift kitchen facilities because of building work so I know how difficult it is to do SW at the same time. โ˜น๏ธ

Sounds like a fun evening @Coxy11 and well done for using the syn bank wisely this week. ๐Ÿ‘

It's a bit overcast here but reasonably warm @joedenise. Rain is coming tomorrow I think. ๐Ÿค” We'll be losing some cupboards too as we're having a window fitted and another wall completely removed so just one left compared to the 3 we have now) pantry will lead off the other wall).ย

I've had a SW breakfast (porridge and fruit) and I'm out to lunch with former colleagues. It'll be something light (JP? ๐Ÿค”) and I'm planning Bolognese or meatballs this evening so should be on plan.ย

Hope your pasta sauce worked out @Jellybaby. The one I made from gifted tomatoes was delicious. ๐Ÿ˜‹

It was certainly very frustrating when it was just the little bits each week, thankfully with no more oral steroids for a while, it has improved and apart from blip weeks (like this week due to a neuro related bowel/urinary system stop/start week and a half pound loss), it is going at a steady 1 to 2lbs a week. I've lost 19lbs on my restart weight since the beginning of May and that has included a gig weekend which included an utterly glorious meal out in a no holds barred eating extravaganza in a restaurant, a 2 week holiday where we were most definitely off plan for the entire time and thoroughly enjoyed stuffing our faces and a long weekend away in London where although I didn't go mad, I didn't count stuff either and would have been well over the calories.

I've completely discarded the SW plan and just calorie counting now, it has allowed for much more freedom when out and about and a more varied diet than I was having whilst at SW...and an awful lot cheaper too. It also appears to suit my body more, it doesn't feel as deprived and there is so much choice of meals I can have now.

I'm more resolute than middle son, so I have found it easier to go without the meetings. Middle son has struggled a lot more without that being held to account that you get when you go to meetings. He's back on the weight loss trail again now and going down (5lb loss this week) but he has a way to go before reaching his leaving SW weight.

We did receive news last week that the consultant who replaced our old one is leaving the group and a new consultant coming in. The new one is one that used to cover for our original consultant when she was away on holiday and she is lovely, we did toy with the idea of going back just to give that accountability for middle son but my ability to travel on a regular basis is so much more limited now than it was when we started and finances are still tight. So because of the risk of not being able to go each week but still having to pay for it, we decided against going back.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Hi all, typed out a post this morning then iPad died ๐Ÿ™„ so hereโ€™s version 2โ€ฆ

Im definitely moving in with you for a couple of weeks @bubbs. Two birds one stone, SW and bargain hunting tips ๐Ÿ˜

Welcome back @SingleSue youโ€™ve got to do what suits you and your family. But my gosh well done on being lighter now after everything youโ€™ve had going on.

Sounds like a good night @Coxy11

There was no finesse or sophistication to the pasta sauce! Roasted all the tomatoes with a large red onion, garlic, mixed herbs, onion salt and a pinch of paprika, blitzed when cooled and it tasted fab! Ten portions in the freezer.

    Todayโ€™s food:
B - 45g bran flakes HEXB, chopped fruit, yoghurt 0.5
L - leftover mince and potatoes from last night
D - roast chicken salad with pickles

My cholecystitis started over a year ago! It took a while for the GP to take me seriously (I'm not one for running to the hospital but boy do I wish I did now) and to get a scan done, by which time it had become chronic cholecystitis. I now have bouts of acute and chronic flare ups.

To add insult to injury, when I had the scan done and the referral made to the hospital to see a surgeon, the same blooming GP noted my weight as being higher than it was, much much higher, in fact, higher than my starting SW weight (I'd already lost 4 ish stone by then) and higher than my top weight had ever been. Goodness only knows where he got it from as they had been kept informed of my weight and had in fact received an update two days before the referral was made.

I found out when the consultant sent a letter many weeks later saying that before he could see me, I had to be referred for bariatric services - by this time, it was November, I'd started talking to my GP in mid July and the scan had been in lateย  August. Another delay while I went a little ape sh*t and tried to get it corrected but it took several weeks before I was added to the list to see the consultant for an initial appointment.....except this time, the GP still sent off the wrong weight, the right side of wrong as it was closer to my weight but it was actually a slightly lower weight than I actually was.

That mistake and correction then played its part when I finally saw the consultant at the end of April, he had the impression it was a follow up appointment, got narky with me as my weight hadn't reduced much since it had to be 'corrected' (thank you steroids and GP) and almost shouted at me asking if I knew the risks. Straight onto PALS, another appointment 2 weeks later which confirmed that the first consultant thought it was a follow up appointment and then had an appointment which was what the first appointment should have been with all the normal tests and explanations carried out.

So finally added to surgery waiting list half way through May, at least a 6 months waiting list with surgery earliest of November time but probably more likely Jan or Feb and in the meantime, I have to have these awful flare ups and pretty much constant abdominal pain and issues.

Re the operation, not at all sure yet, the surgeon said it may be but they will see closer to the date and a decision made but he thinks it may be more complex and could involve a longer stay and a potentially more complex recovery due to being wheelchair reliant and unable to move around so much to aid healing. On the other hand, I could be like dad and fly through surgery and have a quicker than quick recovery, I was certainly like that with my hysterectomy but being wheelchair reliant does cause a few issues post surgery, not least getting myself to the loo whilst in hospital - I have nightmares at being stuck in bed trying to get someone to get me there and then wetting the bed because everyone is too busy to do it.

Morning all, weather not good this morning! ย We had a very short heavy shower earlier but no rain since but it is extremely cloudy and very windy. ย Probably be a good drying day but I did all my washing in the hour when Octopus were doing free electric! ย Also cooked the doner kebab in the oven during that time so I definitely used more electric than I normally would!

@SingleSue - what a catalogue of errors from your GP. ย Hope the operation and recovery go well when you finally get the appointment.

Not going shopping until this evening as we've ordered a TGTG bag from Morrisons so will see what's in it and then do the rest of the shopping. ย I definitely need to buy bread because they never have wholemeal in the bags it's always white which DH is happy about as don't generally buy it!

    Today's plan:

    B - eggs on toast
L - LO doner kebab meat, new potatoes, salad
D - toad in the hole, roast potatoes, veg

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
Syns - 10% fat lamb mince (how many syns? ย forgot to ask yesterday!); sausages 2; flour 4.5

Think I'm in for a gain this week as definitely gone over syns as had wine last night which we don't usually have mid week.

    Have a good day everyone.

It sounds like my DH was very lucky @SingleSue. He only went straight to the GP/A&E because of the imminent holiday so got dealt with immediately. Hope you get sorted very soon.

I don't think I could cope with calorie counting as I'm used to eating lots. I know SW is restrictive when it comes to eating out and, although possible to do with ready meals, cooking from scratch is the best way. But what mattters is that we find a way to suit us. ๐Ÿ‘

It's been drizzly and miserable all day here @joedenise, hardly August weather. โ˜น๏ธ Although I've been on plan since Saturday, I'm feeling fat today. Perhaps it's because I've got jeans on instead of loose dresses. ๐Ÿค”

Yesterday worked out OK. I had a JP with cheese and beans and only syns would have been in the salad dressing.ย

    Today's plan -ย
B- HEB toast, eggs (P), baked beans (F), HEA milk for drinksย
    L- JP (F), cottage cheese (P), salad (S)ย
D- savoury mince (P, S), new potatoes, peas (F), carrots, broccoli, cauliflower (S)ย
    Syns - 0
