@Suffolksue - I use chicken thighs cut into pieces or you can leave them whole, it's up to you. You'll need a couple of bowls - one for beaten egg and one for your coating. There's various things you can use for the coating such as breadcrumbs, instant mash powder or couscous. Just add some herbs and spices to it and mix it up. I always add some paprika and some mustard powder plus something like mixed herbs but you can add your favourites. I'm using couscous as the moment as that's what I've got in the cupboard.
Dip the pieces of chicken into the egg and then into the coating and place on a baking sheet. Spray and then bake in the oven for about 30-35 minutes turning the tray half way.
I always cook the chicken on the lower shelf and the chips on the upper shelf at the same time as they take about the same length of time.
I generally serve with corn on the cob and baked beans.

Well done on your loss @TakeItEazy. 👏👏👏 A good loss and a new number is what we like to see. Now you've sorted out the granola there should be more. 😁
A pound is good after a stressful week @Suffolksue. 👍 Congratulations to your DGS.
I always think a food diary helps @Jellybaby. I'd be surprised if your consultant uncovers anything you don't know but I find just filling one in helps me focus.
I've never tried KFC with couscous @joedenise, always used instant potato. I'll give it a go tonight. I suppose it's technically a tweak but I'm going to count it as syn free.
We used to have a balloon festival locally @bubbs and the balloons came so close to our house we could wave to the people in the baskets. The biggest laugh was when the Durex balloon landed on the playing field of the Catholic boys' school up the road. 🤣
Our meal was amazing last night. After a bruschetta starter, I had salmon with prawn and lobster filled ravioli, spinach and asparagus in a hollandaise sauce . I even ate some of DH's tiramisu. 😁
Back on plan today. I've batch cooked savoury mince for the freezer (3% mince was 50%off in Aldi yesterday 👍) and prepped dinner for tomorrow as I'm out dancing in the afternoon.
Today's plan -
B- HEB porridge, raspberries and strawberries (S), banana (F), HEA milk
L- Spanish omelette (P, F, S), pickles (S)
D- Fake KFC (P), SW chips (F), green stuff, mushrooms and tomatoes (S)
Syns - weekend wine 😁1 -
Evening all 😁

Morning!
Well done @TakeItEazy - so good to see a new front number x
Good news about the 1lb off @Suffolksue
Our food taster/woman of the year was good. I did the shop this week as usual shop lady wanted to learn Pay and as I’ll be moving at some point, it’s good to train her up. She’s very bubbly so got on fine.I’ve been for a 4k run - wasn’t feeling it this morning so dragged myself out. Have had a poached egg/protein seeded bagel thin and a good coffee so far. DDis is cooking us lasagna and salad later so not on plan but I’m determined to have a good few days before we head off on our hike. Might do a food diary too @Jellybaby
Your meal sounds lovely @maman apart from the tiramisu, not my thing at all!!!
Have a good day all

Morning all, another cold, windy day here but it’s bright and it’s not raining (yet 🥳).Your meal sounds fabulous @maman. Well done on the loss @Suffolksue
At least I know where my gain came from @bubbs and would definitely have been more if I’d not gone straight back on plan but you’ll have it off next week. Hope the food diary works @Coxy11 and good luck with your hike 😁
Did a bit of online shopping last night for trainers and some leggings so will head out soon to pick them up. Nothing else planned so I might start my next book from the library 😉
Today’s food:
B - chopped fruit with Kvarg 0.5
L - toast HEXB, l/over bolognaise, salad
D - chicken Dahl with rice (DS cooking so will need to check the recipe but from memory think it’s SW friendly)
Leaves plenty syns if I want anything else.
Have a good day all.0 -
Hi everyone. I am still around, following SW and trying very hard to stick to it. Life has been getting in the way of posting here but, I am very happy to say I’ve lost 2lb since I was last weighed. I still have a couple of “French pounds” to go and I’m off away again next weekend so September will have to be a good one in terms of weight loss as mid October, I’m off again - to Spain where I adore tapas.so, I need some wriggle room.
I do read and try to keep up to date with you all and I’m certainly revelling in the successes and commiserating with those of you, like me, who have an eternal struggle.Top end of target is 5lb away plus what ever I gain on my next trip. It is a walking holiday so hopefully I’ll keep some off with all the body magic. The pub food and real ale may be a bit of an issue but I shall enjoy what I have and draw the line after. I’ve 3 days to work and then off for 10 nights.
I’ll see you in September.0 -
Afternoon all, got back a bit earlier than I thought we would.
Tractorfest was OK but it was quite a small show but was probably big enough for DH as far as the walking was concerned. It's still only 8 weeks since his op and he's still not sleeping brilliantly.
When are you actually leaving for your hike @Coxy11? Where are you walking this time and for how long?
Did you try couscous on the KFC @maman? I find it makes it a bit more crunchy! I think course polenta would probably work well too. I don't syn it either - don't see why it should be synned as it is being used as part of a meal. I think it's only a tweak if you are doing something as a snack like roasting chickpeas rather than as part of a meal.
You're doing well @Matron_Midge to still be in target. Enjoy your holiday and we'll see you back in September.
We had a fry up before we went out 1 syn for sausage and I opted for a falafel and halloumi salad box for lunch - I think falafels are 1.5 each so 6 syns; small amount of halloumi so will call it part HEA2! Also had a small glass of Prosecco another 5 syns. Quite pleased to have remained within syns on an outing!
I'm making stuffed chicken wrapped in bacon for dinner which we'll have with some new potatoes and various veg.
Hope you're all having a good day.

Hello all, long time not posting, but have been looking in. During my 5 day spell in hospital the food was very good, not huge portions, but high quality and main meal plus a pud was too much for me.
Since being home (10 days) I have not been recording Syns etc. OH is feeding me lots of fruit/salad/veggies and protein with the occasional bit of cake, pud. I weighed at home on Thursday and was nicely in the middle of range, will not WI for another 2 weeks or so, as not mobile enough really and think the chairs might be too low as yet.
You are getting there bit by bit @joedenise, sorry to read about your rubbish meal.
@bubbs I hope that DH's knee is less painful now.
@TakeItEazy that's a great loss.
@Suffolksue great news about your DGS and a nice 1lb off too.
@maman your meal sounds lush, making me feel hungry now.
It's been a sunny day here today, pleasantly warm, although breeze no cold edge to it, no idea what is forecast for the next few days though. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)1 -
Morning all, another nice day although forecast to be a bit cloudy later but it's bright enough at the moment. Another machine load of washing on and will be going out on the line shortly once it's finished. Another load of towels etc. Weather not looking quite as good tomorrow so probably won't get the bedding done then as I'd hoped but we'll see whether the forecast is right first!
Today's plan:
B - breakfast hash
L - Moroccan spiced kebabs, salad in WW wrap
D - egg, chips, beans
HEA - milk
HEB - ww wrap
Syns - may put a bit of garlic mayo in the wrap 1
Have a good day everyone.

Good to see you posting @Matron_Midge and @maddiemay. You're both doing really well.👍🏼
If you can keep things under control and not gain too much with all the holidays going on @Matron_Midge then you can hit the plan hard when things settle down.
Pleased to hear that hospital food was good @maddiemay. That's often not the case. You're obviously doing fine to be well within range. Hope you start to get more mobile ASAP.🤗
Are you planning more Body Magic @Jellybaby? I was wondering about the new leggings and trainers? 🤔
THE KFC with couscous was excellent @joedenise, we certainly enjoyed the crunchy coating. I don't use instant potato for anything other than KFC so, when I've used up what I have in, I'll stick to couscous.
I didn't get to post yesterday but stayed on plan. There was a buffet tea provided at the dance but I stuck to fruit, crudités and a few cubes of cheese that I'm counting as HEA although I think it was Lancashire.
It's mad, crazy here today as the builders have moved into the kitchen so I can't get near at the moment. I've had a SW breakfast (scrambled eggs and tomatoes) before they arrived but not sure what I can have for lunch. I'll do chilli from the freezer as they'll be gone by then and I should just about have enough facilities to put an easy meal together. Left to DH we'd eat out most of the time but I really don't want to gain extra pounds and pay for the privilege. 🤣0
