    Please may I rejoin you?
I know Slimming World works ,but I seemed to have lost my willpower/mojo .
I can’t remember the last time I posted here but have continued lurking !
I nursed my darling DH until he died in 2021 ,
started trying again and included exercise in 2022 ,this led to angina and an emergency stent ( just avoiding a bypass )
started SW again and exerciseing and my hip had problems to cut a long story short I finally had a hip replacement 7 weeks ago and it’s brilliant ,no crutches,no stick ,walking well and no pain .

I have been to group on and off ,my lovely consultant left several weeks ago and I haven’t returned .I didn’t gel with her replacement before ,so decided to go alone .

Trouble is I just don’t seem able to stick with it .
I’m hoping if I read and post regularly,it will help .

    Sorry for the long essay

Morning all and welcome back @Suffolksue.  I'm going it alone now too but mainly because I begrudge paying every week just because I'm a lb or 2 over my target range!  Maybe once I'm back in range I might go back but at the moment that seems extremely unlikely as have another AI holiday coming up in about 6 weeks time!

Perhaps try posting daily with your menu plans to help you stay on plan - it may work or it may not but certainly worth a go.

Weather is really cloudy today but I chanced doing a load of washing and hanging it out before going shopping but it rained while I was actually in the shop but only a very short light shower by the looks of it so have left the washing out and it's blowing well now so hopefully it should dry soon!

    Today's plan:

    B - kedgeree
    L - picky plate, Ryvitas
D - liver, bacon, fried up LO potatoes and cauliflower, spring greens

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA - cheese
    HEB - Ryvita
    Syns - LF spread 4; lolly 6

    Have a good day everyone.

PS. Meant to say I've ordered some new scales because I think my current ones have had it!  According to them this morning I had lost nearly 1.5lb overnight.  Hopefully having new ones they will be more accurate.

    Hi and welcome back suffolksue
I had a 0.5lb loss this morning. Bit frustrated if I’m honest, especially as I have been writing things down, and bar one evening of wine and charcuterie, I haven’t swayed off plan. I should be happy as it’s a loss but I still haven’t lost what I put on in France yet and my next holiday is looming in 4 weeks time.
ah well, I’ll just keep plodding and await the whoosh

in other news, I went to Aldi for some potatoes and salad and the bags of baking potatoes had huge ones in. Every other week they’ve been tiddly and not really the right size for Jack pots - I bought 2 packs and then had to lug them home (body magic for sure)

    todays food
    B yog and banana
L Beans on HEb toast and strawberries
D Jack pot and salad with tuna and HE cheese (can hardly wait) will have some carefully weighed out butter on it (syns)

Good to see you posting again @Suffolksue. You've made a start just by posting again. You've probably got stuff in at the moment which isn't very SW friendly so , this being a mse thread, you'll have to eat that up unless you can donate it or use your syns for it over time. Then I'd make a plan for the week, including SW friendly snacks, and a shopping list to go with it . That way you won't be tempted to eat the 'wrong' things and remember to prioritise your syns to make sure you use them for things you really enjoy and look forward to. When I'm asked for tips at my group, I always say planning and plenty of Speed are what's worked for me. Do ask if we can give you any syn values.

Hope you've recovered from the fruit that upset you @TakeItEazy. Personally I have most of my Speed as vegetables.

Its so infuriating when losses are small and slow @Matron_Midge but a loss is a loss so well done👍🏼. One synful evening shouldn't stop you losing. Perhaps it's worth trying to write down all syns for a week to make sure you stay within the 105.

If your scales let you lose 1.5lbs overnight then I'd hang on to them @joedenise!🤣 Do you know what sort of scales you plan to buy? 🤔 As you know, I don't weigh at home but I have been keeping a check lately using the scales at the GP's surgery. I think they must have installed their super new machine (like the ones in Boots that give you a print out), to encourage people to check their weight and fend off obesity.

It's been wet here most of the day but cleared up a bit now. We managed to get out for a walk this morning suitably dressed against the weather.

We're having fish again tonight, second time this week but I have broccoli and other veg I wanted to use up so the planned meatballs can stay in the freezer.😊

    Today's plan-
B- HEB porridge, HEA milk, berries (S), banana (F)
L- ham, egg (P), hash of LO veg and potatoes (F,S), pickles (S)
D- baked salmon (P), SW chips (F), carrot chips, green stuff, mushrooms and tomatoes (S)
    Syns- 0

I've only ordered a straightforward bathroom scale which can weigh in Kg; lbs and Stones.  Obviously I'll be changing them to Stones - if I couldn't change it to whatever I wanted I wouldn't bother with them.

I've recently changed GP and the new one doesn't seem to have scales which my old one did if you went to the one in town but not in my local branch surgery.

Got my washing almost dry before the real rain started!  Got it on the airer at the moment so that'll be dry by the morning and ready to put away.  The annoying thing is I checked it and it was virtually dry about 15 minutes earlier and I thought I'd leave it about half hour and then get it in but of course the rain had other ideas!

a Thank you for the welcome ,
I think a lot of the problem is mindless eating
example I went to my monthly quiz this afternoon ,my team won and I got a 120g bar of Cadbury caramel chocolate .When DH was alive he would ‘help me out ‘🤣.I careful synned it 11 / 45 g so decided a third 11 syns and I could eat a third ,sat watching tv amd it was only when I felt a bit sick that I realised I eaten 2/3  of it without really thinking or tasting .
The rest is now hidden at the back of the freezer .

I think a weeks bank of syns might be the way to go and will start tomorrow, will also post my menus ,not been v good at planning the last few ,though I have a lot of SW meals ,both bought and home made ( I still batch cook and now freeze in single portions ) in the freezer .
have also taken to frozen veg as so much fresh  was going off before I used it up .

    Evening all
    todays menu

B - granola, ff Greek yogurt & pineapple (5 syns) plus coffee
L - wm soft pitta, corned beef slice, tsp red onion chutney (HEb, 3 syns)) snackAjacks (4syns)
T - baked rice cake (2.5 syns) hm quiche HEa cheese, beans, toms, cue & beetroot, tsp red onion chutney (1syn)

So both HEs & 15.5 syns, Although I’ve included the rice syns every time I’ve had it but comes from 1 pack of rice, same with the cheese on the quiche (just 1 HEa)

    Think that’s it!

Off to cinema tomorrow, quality time with my boy. Dead pool & Wolverine 🥰
