I watched that programme too @beanielou, actually I watched the beginning and the end just to see what they'd done.😁 They bought a wreck of a property in Sheerness High Street and refurbished the house and shop. The living accommodation was stunning afterwards. The plan was to let out the shop to add to retirement income but not sure whether it was in a good, commercial position. 🤔

Sorry to hear you've had a gain @joedenise. I definitely find that writing everything down really helps when I need to lose. Glad you like your new Aldi, hopefully it'll save you a bit of money too. Just lately, they've had quite a bit at 30% off when I'm doing my shopping. Last week I was lucky with skinny sausages and this week I got a chicken and fish.

Good to know that Joe is improving and that you're managing to do a bit more too @maddiemay.

It's a lovely day again here. I've done a line of usual washing plus 2 fleecy throws. The summer has been so awful that I've been using the throws quite often in the evening.  🤣

    Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, 2 eggs (P), mushrooms and tomatoes (S), HEA milk for drinks
    L- JP (F), prawns (P), salad and pickles (S)
D- savoury mince (P,S), new potatoes and peas (F), cauli, broccoli, cabbages (S)
    Syns- LTL mayo 1

@beanielou and @maman - yes Sheerness is my local big town (It's Isle of Sheppey - years ago, apparently, it used to be called Isle of Sheepy as there were so many sheep farms on it.  No idea when it changed to Sheppey or even if it's a true story!).  Nowhere near as many sheep now as there were when we moved here nearly 24 years ago and a lot more cows.  Assume the the farms can make more money from cows than sheep!

Not sure where in the High Street it was but as it's in the High Street I'd have thought it would be a good commercial option.  If I'm honest most of Sheerness is an absolute dump so I'm not surprised the worst property was there!

I've dug out a proper food diary sheet from my old folder so can easily keep track of syns and make sure I'm having enough Speed.  Think I'm a bit low so far today but will make sure it's all Speed veg tonight.  Will be a few more syns tonight as I've got some gooseberry fool to use up in the fridge for pudding tonight although it's mainly FF greek style yoghurt so not too high but will have to look up the syns again as can't remember from when I made it before.

I think they had a new wee local business moving in maman. It was certainly an amazing transformation. It’s more about how you can transform a house Denise.

Afternoon all, meant to post menu for yesterday but the fruit I’ve eaten made me ill 😳.
Due to my dodgy digestion I’m struggling to find fruit that works for me!
    So yesterday was
B-Granola (5syns), FF Greek yogurt ,coffee splash of milk.
L-melon, pineapple, Granny Smith apple, FF Greek yoghurt
T-baked rice cake (rice egg & tomato) (2.5syns) roast chicken breast, baby cues, cherry toms, beetroot & beans.

    No HE’s again 🤔 ( rectified today ).

    Today
B- granola, ff Greek yogurt (5syns)
L - 19g bag of snackajacks (4syns?) not much I know but we were at the kidney centre!
T- will be, baked rice cake (2.5syns),roast chicken breast, homemade quiche with crushed potato base, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes & HEA cheese.
No fruit today 🫣 have bought bananas if hungry though!

Are soft pittas a HEb please?

Have really picked a great time to knuckle down with all the chocolate from my class in the house 😳.

The Warburton wholemeal soft pittas are HEB @TakingItEasy.  I use them loads as does @bubbs.  Make a nice change from sliced bread.

Think you might need to try and offload some of the chocolate!  Alternatively can you bag it up into 5 syn bags and can then limit how much you have?

Sorry to hear you had problems with yesterday fruit.  Do you know which was the likely culprit to avoid in future?  If you don't it's probably worth only having one on any particular day.

The new shop was next door to the Sally Army if that helps @joedenise. 🤔

Do you not have milk in drinks @TakeItEazy? Remember to drink plenty. 😊

Other wholemeal pittas are HEB as well as Warburtons. I've had Lidl and M&S lately (both YS 👍). And you're right, it is 4 syns for the snack a jacks.

Was lucky this afternoon. I went to Asda for wine at 25%off 😁and they had YS chicken thighs and breasts so bought a few of those and a pack of 5% mince and some prawns as I used the last at lunch time. Not up to @bubbs ' standards but good value for money. Now I need to portion them up and find room in the freezer! 🤣

Thanks for the pitta info 🤗
Im terrible for drinking, I only have 1 coffee a day but have a bottle of ÑAS Vimto on the go all day (very rarely finish it though 🫣).

I know it’s the apple & melon as high in FODMAPS. My own fault, was hoping for improvement as not had those for years 🙁.

Tesco red onion chutney, how may syns please?

Another good box @bubbs.  My TGTG bag was rubbish - stale doughnuts and cheese scones, most binned as not worth eating; chocolate bar cakes out of date but still edible; 2 oranges; box of plums; box of grapes; 2 packs of 2 ciabatta rolls - certainly not worth the money!

I know where the Salvation Army place is @maman as I used to go to group there at one stage until the group got too big!  I might see if I can watch it on demand at some point.
