Santander £185 Switch Offer: 18/03/24

Hi guys, I applied for 2 santander accounts for me and my partner on 26th March and we got the standard application in process email that same day, but since then we've heard nothing.  Does anyone know how long it will take before Santander will tell us whether our accounts are opened?

UPDATE: Spoken to Santander - both accounts open today, but they are confused why no welcome emails are being received, even though they tried resending some today, hence they will investigate and get back to us.

Did they open the accounts only after you called them?

Same here. I was accepted straight away, given sc and an but had nothing else. Not even email confirmation! Is this normal?

I got accepted straight away also, applied on the 27th. Got  4 emails shortly after, mostly to confirm application, account and the switch. Following day got an email to confirm card has been sent out.

Yesterday got, in the post, letter with account confirmation/switch details. Also the temp security password. Now waiting on the letter with the security PIN, I can then log in. Hopefully that will come today or tomorrow.

Also already getting a few promotional emails in the last few days.

Very strange. They didnt even ask for ID either.

I had it confirmed by live chat this morning it only needs to stay in 24 hours similar to the NatWest group switch 😊

Debit card arrived today. So just the security PIN for online banking and the PIN for the card to come now. Hopefully the PIN for online banking will arrive tomorrow!

There is nothing in the terms and conditions about it having to stay any length of time.

No they didn't.  All I know is when we called and gave our details, they said the accounts were already open and that an email had been issued.  We complained that no emails had been received and they said they would investigate it and get back to us within 2 working days.  They advised that until then we wait for the stuff to come through post.

I must add that we had opened our Santander accounts last year (as burner accounts to switch form) and they of course closed down when the switch happened.  So we decided to try and login using the old 2023 login username/passwords and happy days we managed to login fine and can see the new account info.  Weird.
