Yes it did.DJDools said:
Thank you. I'm assuming that meant a hard search on your credit file...SaveTheEuro said:
Yes, just opened an additional account online and transferred into that. An Everyday Account is a simple one to go for. It can just sit alongside your existing account(s).DJDools said:
Has anyone with an existing Santander bank a/c managed to successfully take up the March switch offer WITHOUT going into the bank? The nearest one to me is difficult to get to at the best of times.easyasonetwothree said:For any existing customers that were wondering - I had no luck on the phone but was able to do the switch in branch with an appointment, took 10 mins. It was hard getting an appointment though!
Also, the account I switched into my Santander joint account was a solo account, no issues.1 -
Same here, my OH opened an everyday account (is an existing customer), gave the same contact details as in the existing account, but doesn't look like the account has been opened, only a reference number given at the end of application. Surprisingly, there is no email (or text) sent with the reference number, basically no email at all saying that application has been submitted.quicksilverfox said:Opened an everday account online, got a reference number and could take 5 days to hear back, this is normal?
I opened mine a few days ago (existing customer as well) and mine was opened and visible instantly in internet banking.
Have you heard anything from Santander after application submission?

no email or text yet and no sign of the account in the app, same circumstances as your OH.info_maniac said:

I'm taking a wild guess that they don't process applications on a sunday and monday was a bank holiday.
I'll wait and see what happens this week before contacting them1 -
thanks!! looks like a waiting game now.quicksilverfox said:no email or text yet and no sign of the account in the app, same circumstances as your OH.

Following advice here - i went through TCB the website yesterday (bank holiday monday). I opened an everyday current account. Took about 10mins (existing customer for >20 years). Immediately got my acc number and sort code, then visible on my app with in a few minutes. 5 mins later got email from TCB- confirmed the cashback tracked for £25 plus £2 holiday bonus. But never go a confirmation email from Santander re- new curent account.

No emails or texts yet, so doesn't look like things have moved even an inch today.info_maniac said:

No new account visible in the app yet.
Surprisingly, TCB has tracked at £25.0 -
Usually, they send 3-4 back to back emails with the OLA* reference number in the subject. It is strange that no emails were sent on successful account opening.hvaghela said:Following advice here - i went through TCB the website yesterday (bank holiday monday). One annoying thing about not having any choice over the switch date during the application for a new edge account, is that my switch completion date was the same as the due date for some monthly direct debits. The switch completed but the direct debits have not been paid, either from the old or new accounts. I'm going to have to complain and hope Santander sort it out.0

Just wondering if the £1500 to be paid into this new account will need to be from a non-Santander account OR can it be paid from another Santander current account held by me? I remember that recently Nationwide had a requirement that the £1000 to be paid in should come from a non-Nationwide account to be eligible for the switch offer.
And does the £1500 need to stay in the account for 60 days? I am looking to move some of the money out after a week and leave around £100 for Moneybox/Plum DDs. Will this work?0 -
The t+c's dont mention anything about keeping the £1500 in for any length of time. I've just done the transfer from my Halifax account and sent it straight back again .info_maniac said:Just wondering if the £1500 to be paid into this new account will need to be from a non-Santander account OR can it be paid from another Santander current account held by me?
