Do it from the website. I opened 4 accounts, 2 for me and 2 for wife so hopefully £100 cashback. Not sure how many you can open but you could never use them then close when cashback paid. Not expecting any £185 bonus though as both had one in 2022. I will go through motions on 2 of them just in case.
    Cheers!!!

Gone for it, rude not to, especially with the TCB 'bonus'. Which has tracked within a few minutes. Just have to wait for my details to come through in the post now.
Text already this morning from Chase to confirm the switch. App showing account will close in 11 days.

Re keeping tabs on switches, my son asked me today if I'd heard of this 'Switch Tracker' app. I hadn't, and can't see any previous reference to it on this forum:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.switchtracker.bank_switch&hl=en_US&pli=1
It's far simpler just to write the details down or use a free spreadsheet like on google docs

All you need is month/year, donor bank, recipient bank, cash paid

I wouldn't give details to a random app when I can track it in seconds manually

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

  • I know this has been asked many times on lots of these posts, but still unsure...
Does 'active direct debit' mean one that has paid out while on this account?
Or does it mean it has been set up on this account and gone through the pending stage, but not necessarily paid yet?

A direct debit is active either if it has been paid out in the last 13 months, or if it has never been paid out, is less than 13 months old.
  • I’ve changed my payment info in eBay and PayPal to my Santander account info. They’ve shown up in the app. I probably won’t be buying anything. Does this count as 2 active DDs as it stands? I can’t be bothered moving actual monthly paying DDs again (newbie serial switcher).

Many moons ago, I got switching cash from Alliance & Leicester, which was then taken over by Santander. Any thoughts on whether this will disqualify me? I'm hoping not as it must have been almost 20 years ago (but I only closed the resulting Santander account recently...)

I reckon you've answered your own question, you got switch cash from A&L not Santander...

@Bridlington1 - I'm struggling with designing a spreadsheet that can keep a track of everything.  Do you have any suggestions? for example layout or what to enter?
On my own spreadsheet the columns I have are Bank, Bonus amount, account open date, switch date, date bonus received and notes. In the notes section I put what bank account I switched into the bank that offers the bonus and anything else like if I received an additional bonus for refering someone or if I was referred by someone or if I got some more money after a complaint like I got from Barclays as the switch to them was riddled with issues.

The last row just has a total adding all the bonuses up. We've got separate tabs for me, my wife and joint account switches. I've also added some bits to calculate the totals earned in each year. We went a bit switch mad last year and between us made £3,075. Don't think we can beat that as previous record was £900 in 2022.
That's brilliant, thanks very much for the helpful info.

@HHUK - Thanks, but I've tried that app. It's good, but I agree with @WillPS that a customisable spreadsheet is much easier to keep a track of.

I have opened Everyday account on 27 Mar, still not visible on my app
I couldnt do switch when I applied for new account, my card for donor account hasnt arrived yet. I dont expect it to come this weekend
I have a gnawing feeling that Santander switch offer will go away by 31 Mar

Any rumblings when they will stop the offer?
Do they generally give a warning that offer is valid for another 2-3  days only before withdrawing the offer? What has been the past experience of switches?
