I paid in £1500 and then sent it back to my Halifax account because nothing in the t's and c's. I've now paid in another £1500 and I'll keep it in for 24 hours just to be on the safe side lol .
I'm doing the same. I'm sure that we could complain and get the money if they didn't pay but just to avoid the hassle, i'll leave the money there for 24 hours.

I did 3 x £500 in and out within the space of 5 minutes ... that's good enough I trust Santander.
  • The terms and conditions don't mention a limit of time for the money being in the account in order for the bonus to count, but then I remembered this post:

Just wondering if the £1500 to be paid into this new account will need to be from a non-Santander account OR can it be paid from another Santander current account held by me? I remember that recently Nationwide had a requirement that the £1000 to be paid in should come from a non-Nationwide account to be eligible for the switch offer.

And does the £1500 need to stay in the account for 60 days? I am looking to move some of the money out after a week and leave around £100 for Moneybox/Plum DDs. Will this work?
I had it confirmed by live chat this morning it only needs to stay in 24 hours similar to the NatWest group switch 😊
Which seems to go against the terms and conditions. I tried asking the live chat myself just to be sure. The bot was useless so went to an agent. At first they just copied the terms and conditions. I tried to clarify by saying it doesn't mention a time limit and asked if the money could be taken out as soon as it's deposited (I also mentioned the 24 hour limit since other banks have that). Their exact response was "there is no limit to how long it stays in the account". Would've taken a screenshot but bank app didn't allow it (fair enough). I didn't see an option to save the transcript either sadly.

So now I'm not sure what to believe.

Always the terms and conditions. Not chat agents who frequently make up stuff to get rid of you, though the one you chatted to was correct.

The money just has to go into the account, you can remove it straight away.

I applied on the first day. I'm sure we will all be shouting up when it comes!

I think the 17th May (60 days) will be when they check (for eligibilty) the first accounts switched - is that right? and then pay within 30 days of that, so we have a bit of a wait yet I think. I applied on the 20th March.

I agree ... I applied on the 18th March (start date) and I hope to be one of the first to receive the incentive from the 17th May, but Sid's law comes into play ... haha.

    Hopefully, yes.

I think my £1500 was in for a few minutes on its way into the edge saver, going by the T&C's that should be fine. Planning to keep this one for as long as the Saver is competitive, with a couple of utility DDs coming out.

So all agreed/confirmed, no time limit on how long the £1500 needs to be in?
    Thanks.

The T&Cs didn't specify a minimum period of time.
