had a chat with Rick - he's had an argument with his dad and told him where to go. in my view it wasn't unjustified, but didn't say that, i just told him that perhaps he (rick) was a little stressed because he was bored and where he is as it was his frustration letting out.

i also heard a disturbing story from his girlfriend about an incident that she witnessed with his dad prior to his illness / admission to which i am also disturbed about and yet to tackle. i'll speak to becca tomorrow to find out what exactly has been going on and take it from there.

he's told his other aunt that when discharged, he's coming here. i've made no comment on this as i really want his mum to try and look after him, but now doubtful that she can manage to look after him. his discharge is a while away yet.

he's getting on better with the "oldies"- they are reminiscing and telling him funny stories, one of them we recognised as he's a dog breeder and we visited him with the kids 12 years ago when looking for a dog.

Really sorry to hear about Rick having an argument with his dad. Hope things get sorted and his mum will look after him on discharge but I'm sure he knows that you are always there for him.

    Take care.

Aw fsdss...you make sure you take care and don't take on too much, I would think after all this you may need some time for yourself.
Rick must be feeling pretty frustrated as you say, it must be awful for him, but at least you're there to calm the waters.
    Please look after yourself though.

  • Sorry to hear of the problems and pleased to read is making great progress..If I may make a few comments and with respect I mean no harm to anyone or any offence..You always hurt the people you love most. Not knowing the situation of ricks heated chat with his dad maybe (i hope) dad feels like he has failed as a dad because he wasnt able to protect his son and may be hurting himself inside therefor pushing rick away so that in his mind he cant let him down again. It may be frustration because as a father at this moment he feels helpless to help his son. He may also be doing it to make rick go in to "I'LL SHOW HIM!" mode creating determination in rick....I hope I'm right God bless you all
