  • Welcome home Rick.

You've inspired me to donate blood for the first time, I'm booked in for this Sunday, I've been meaning to for years but didn't realise that they did weekend sessions.

Being at home is the best place for recovery, I had a c-section last year and felt so much better at home than in hospital.

Wow so pleased for Rick and you all,and so glad he has recovered so well.Good luck with everything in the future.
As for playing on the wii, obviously he's not going to have the energy to do a lot of the games, but my kids spend hours on our wii creating mii's either just randomly choosing features,or making replicas of friends, teachers etc.(My boys also create some gruesome girlfriends for each other! they are 7& 9).

fsdds, i hope rick's discharge went ahead as planned, and i understand you must be busy if rick is staying with you, i just want to let you know that you, rick, you and the rest of your family are still in my thoughts and prayers.
i hope all is well, as do a lot of others on this site.

    hi all

ricks' legs are in pain - it was expected, so he's been moving them all day and his sister has been massaging his feet for him, and stretching his legs (taught technique by the physio at my work a few days ago).

he went off in the car this afternoon to see his granny who is in an old peoples home, he is fed up with watching dvd's - so a bit of change of scenery will do him good.

my children were scared of him when they saw him and both sat there staring at him, but soon came round when he showed them his "shark bites" (scars). youngest has kissed him but eldest hasn't gone near him - but he is getting nearer, both are being very gentle around him which is good, as i didn't want any jumping around.

gave my blood yesterday (hi ladies :hello:, i know you're reading), no problem with that, in fact quite easy. they were asking me all about Rick - if i had taken him he would have been quite a celebrity, instead he was at the medical centre having an immunisation.

the donor centre was packed, more so than usual stated the nurse who looked after me.

oh and i passed my uni assignment that was extended because of Rick - dont know how that happened as i never read the chapter i was supposed to answer the questions on - but passed it anyway, through skimming for the answers.
    Give blood - its free
