went to church this morning - just felt i needed to go there although i don't consider myself religious, i am clutching at things to do which may help.

the doctors are presently in a meeting about Rick, it appears that he has a small hole in his lung so they are deciding on an action plan at present. we are off to the hospital soon, the children are going for playtime with their friends which they are really excited about.
i am going to ask today if i can put some photos beside his bed taken only a few weeks ago of him larking around with my children, he was soaking as we were bathing the dog and like a fool, he purposely got himself soaked. i think these are the last photos anyone has of him but it was so much fun.

This whole thing might be a blessing in disguise (if you can call it that) what with his lung, this may have gone unnoticed (sp) for a long time?

They'll never forget you for this. Sorting practical things like keeping the family feed are priceless, the sort of thing they would just do without and get really weak. They're lucky to have you.

I've only just seen this thread. I am so sorry to hear you are all going through so much heartache at the moment. Rick and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope he continues to show little improvements everyday. he is very lucky to have such a lucky family around him and i'm sure he's fully aware of how much you all love him and want him to get well.

(((((HUGS)))))) to fsdss and your family and espesially to Rick. I have only just noticed this thread. You are doing so well supporting the family the way you are. I hope he continues to get better. My thoughts and best wishes are with you. My Nana ( aged at the time 88 ) went through intensive care and high dependency 2 years ago and she can not remember anything about it. She had been in a car accident so different from your situation but she has just had her 90th birthday thanks to the healthcare professionals who saved her. It is amazing how such basic things like recognition and wiggling toes can mean so much. Please keep us updated and look after yourself too.

Aw I'm so sorry i know i don't have to tell you Rick is a very special person and i know his body has been through so such it sound like Rick is saying to himself come on you can win this and with all of the love and support from his family and people on this forum shows him we are all behind him and we will pass on our strength to help him through this and when Rick is feeling better you can show Rick all the people who cares about him and i mean that from the bottom of my heart.
Rick is in my prays and please remember we are all here for Rick and his family .
