Becca (Ricks sister age 16) has just read through the whole thread and is choked with the good wishes that you have posted. she cannot believe how many people have viewed this thread.
she was particulary inspired with those threads which have focused on the important issue of giving blood - without those people who give blood, Rick would certainly not have a fighting chance today. so with all our hearts we thank those who have helped in trying to save the life of Rick and the messages of best wishes have allowed us to remain optimistic and hopeful.
on a personal note writing this seems to alleviate some pressure that we are feeling internally, and allows us to remain calm and focused when in the company of the children and in particular Rick.

Ive only just found this thread-i havent been online much over xmas. Alot of the family's been run down with the flu and colds etc, but reading this makes me feel really bad about my moaning over xmas....

I really hope he pulls through, and fully recovers..... best wishes.

your rick is a real fighter, he has been through so much, i hope and pray he continues to fight. i am glad that you and your family are able to take comfort from the things that are written on this thread. as an ex nurse i thought i was hardened to such stories but this thread has had me close to tears on occasions. my best whishes to you and all your family - keep supporting one another. i am glad he is currently classified as stable and pray his recovery may continue.

Just praying Rick will pull through. You have so many people praying for him from MSE.

My dad was very ill 2 years ago and we were taking an hour at a time, then a day at a time. After 8 weeks in ICU, he was transferred back to a normal ward, and discharged a week later. I found it very helpful for myself to write up my feelings each day after visiting and at least I could see that there were ups and downs and eventually the ups were more than the downs. Just keep positive and focus as you are on ensuring that everyone has food.

You and your family will definitely be in my prayers tonight as I strongly believe that the prayers of myself and others helped my dad pull through.
