he's stable, that's fantastic. i know you don't want to count your chickens but a couple of days ago this was exactly what you wanted to hear. keep the faith and poor becca having to experience this at only 16 - my heart goes out to you.

my brother came round tonight to babysit and just returned from the hospital, i saw Rick and he looks much better IYKWIM. although all hooked up and in a coma i couldn't control myself and burst into tears- how can such a young boy end up like this with no indication that there was a serious problem?.the worst thing is not being able to do anything- not being able to make yourself understood , cuddle or kiss him, or tell him that his life is worth fighting for as he is very precious - he cannot breath by himself yet but his oxygen levels have improved..

the good news today is that the wonderful medical team are not so anxious around him which is a good sign. i managed to hold his hand and kiss his forehead and tell him that i love him - for a good half an hour Becca and i were talking to him and we told him he was famous on the internet!!!!!and passed on all the best wishes. although we don't know what to say to him or whether he can hear us we just babbled on with good messages.
i am emotionally exhausted tonight. my chest is tight and i feel like i have indigestion (stress i know)Ricks mum and dad have gone home to sleep - they look terrible. i lied to Rick and told him we were in the next room should he need us -I'd rather he think that we were there than not and anyway were only 10 minutes away

Thanks for updating.. So pleased to hear there is a slight improvement. There's every chance Rick can hear and is aware you're there. Thinking of you all and Rick...hope there is more positive news tomorrow x

Just seen this thread .... read through quickly to find your updates, sorry to everyone didn't read all the ones in between but wanted to know how he was.

So glad to hear he has made some improvements and looking forward to your posts tomorrow. Despite all the trauma, thanks for keeping this thread updated with news.
