I felt your tears when I read this as I was exactly the same, only I had to wait until I had took my Dad, sister and his girlfriend home before I could let it all out. (I sat outside a shop crying my eyes out in the car and I did not care who saw me) I could not at home as it would have meant discussing it with my 2 kids. Letting it all out really does help, you will bottle it up and get all pent up again, as long as you get a release, you will be fine. I started to get angry about my brother, I wanted to hit him and say what are you doing, fight this, as it was so not like him to be so helpless.

Rick is only doing the same, he IS fighting this, in his own way. He is getting stronger with each blow he is dealt. You should be so proud of him
Being alone tonight will do him the world of good, he will get a proper rest.

Just remember, we are all thinking and praying for you at this most traumatic time and you know what they say about strength in numbers!

The medical team are confident he is fighting this and you must not worry about him needing oxygen, you would worry more if the poor lad did not need it after all he has been through.

Thinking of you all and really really pleased there is good news yet again!

Just to say I've been thinking positve thoughts for Rick too and really hope today sees him recover some more. As others have said, he's probably hearing you and will be aware that the people who love him are beside him. Don't worry if you feel you're babbling when you're talking to him, just say what comes into your head; it'll comfort him just to hear your voices.

My brother came through a very bad health situation this year and we feared for his life. It so puts things in perspective. But at Christmas we all got together and it was a beautiful day, just because he was there with us, still not fully well, but getting there. I just know that next Christmas your family will be together with Rick too.

update

PHEW - Ricks had a really good night's rest - nothings changed he's done really well over night and is classed as having a stable night. so fingers crossed he's producing his own blood now which will heal him.

we slept really well although i had an awful dream about money of all things- but then i woke up and realised it wasn't important or correct.


i'm going to cook a pot roast today and take it to hospital for the family in the slow cooker
