Santander really are taking their sweet time to produce my first statement. Though they did state 24-26 of the month, I have already maxed out this month's cashback expenditure and am waiting to use up the next one.

Basically, it is car insurance (renewal) time. Chase exclude this, hence main reason I got this card (for 12 months only anyway).

Tomorrow is the MSE-declared "sweet spot" for insurance renewal quotes, not that any insurance premium is "sweet" atm as going to be significantly more than last year, for sure.
I haven't yet worked out how Santander decide the date to issue the statement. I asked for it to be the 27th and was told the best they could do was between 26th 30th of the month. I thought fair enough if they don't issue them on weekends or bank holidays. But there doesn't seem to be a pattern so far.
  • Mine was eventually produced on 27 June, with cleared transactions up to 26 June.

I also asked for mine to be produced between the 26th and the 30th of the month - they changed it to that and it seems to be produced around about the 28th or 29th depending

If one does not request a particular statement date is it produced 30 days after card activation?

Yep. Certainly seemed to be for me, at least. They'll change it for you if you ask.

Not how it worked for me - activated on 12th May - first statement and cashback on 28th May - same again June 28th.

Only just spotted the £18 cashback deal for the credit card and missed out on it unfortunately.

Hopefully the same/similar offer will be back soon.

Rookie error made by me in my first month using this card.  I stopped spending when the balance showed £750 and today the statement is being produced and I can see the balance is now £735.06 which I think means the cashback is £14.94 and not £15 that I was expecting.

After a little head scratching I realised the £3 transaction which did not earn cashback is the monthly fee for the edge card.

Nevermind, next month I will get the balance to £753.

My 2% offer is coming to an end and I'm wondering if its better for me to use my Barclaycard Avios credit card for spending instead. I automatically convert them to nectar points.

The £3 fee doesn't seem to make it worthwhile as I barely meet the £750 spend every month on this.
