Santander Edge Credit Card 2% Cashback

My DD will come from my Chase Savings account, so looks like I won't get that £18, but probably took that into account when I applied tbh.
I have zero DDs attached to my Santander Edge account, in order to evade the monthly fee, so foregoing that £18, would save me £36, over the year that my CC will be used.0 -
Yes the DD from edge current account is a requirement to receive the £18 reward.
I will take a gamble that one DD and paying in less than £500 per month to my edge account will not trigger the edge current account £3 monthly fee. If it does, I'll close it and open a new one.0 -

Maybe I'm missing something - but how does an Edge credit card holder avoid the £3 monthly fee ?The £18 carrot, where applicable, is the equivalent of a six month worth of the fee - but doesn't remove the fee element.0

Why do think the Edge credit card £3 fee is avoidable? Is there anything in the above comments or Santander website which indicates the £3 fee does not have to be paid?0 -
Thanks for answering my question. There appears to be some confusion between various aspects of the Edge current account and the Edge credit card. That's why I reckoned the Everyday current account as being acceptable to apply for the latter.0

Took a look at page 2, and could not see anything there that showed the £3 monthly fee for the credit card being avoidable.TwiceNightly said:

Santander really are taking their sweet time to produce my first statement. Though they did state 24-26 of the month, I have already maxed out this month's cashback expenditure and am waiting to use up the next one.
Basically, it is car insurance (renewal) time. Chase exclude this, hence main reason I got this card (for 12 months only anyway).
Tomorrow is the MSE-declared "sweet spot" for insurance renewal quotes, not that any insurance premium is "sweet" atm as going to be significantly more than last year, for sure.0 -
Did you get a chance to call Santander - and, if so, any joy ?0
