After getting texts stating my account was open and debt card will arrive within 5 working days, I get a letter in the post I need to sign and return before account can be opened.

You can normally see your card details in the banks app before receiving it if you can't wait.charlie12525 said:
You need the long card number. If you tick the box to say you do not have a card the switch will probably fail. It happened to me a couple of years ago.mrniceguy111 said:Has anyone tried to switch to Ulster bank yet? Do they ask for the long card number? I have my dummy bank already but I don't have the card yet. I'm planning on doing the switch while waiting for my other (Natwest) to come through

keep us posted thanksHHUK said:Switch to Ulster Select from Barclays was due today, and had happened before breakfast.
Seems like transferred direct debits don't show in app or online until first payment from new account has been made. Any standing orders should be visible immediately, but I don't have any of those
Now need to decide on timing of the deposit of £1250 into the Select account, but not confident of receiving the incentive after getting one from NatWest only this time last year.0 -
I gave up on opening an account and switching to Ulster yesterday. I too had a letter to sign and tick a box then duly sent back 2 days ago. They've been sending me texts + emails saying I need photo id via hooyo or whatever it's called, I decline that as I don't have photo id to show.HillStreetBlues said:After getting texts stating my account was open and debt card will arrive within 5 working days, I get a letter in the post I need to sign and return before account can be opened.
Anyways after numerous requests for id today I get a text. "Great news your account is open" we'll be sending you details next for you to access online banking.
So it seems sending the letter back signed proves to them, I exist, I live where I said I do, so is that it, proof of id (letter) accepted?2 -
is that for ulster bank?HillStreetBlues said:After getting texts stating my account was open and debt card will arrive within 5 working days, I get a letter in the post I need to sign and return before account can be opened.0 -
Can I just check - if the bank switch brings over £1250 in with it, does that cover the requirement to pay-in £1250? Do I have to make an additional payment beyond the switch funds.
thanks1 -

The terms say that you must pay in £1,250. Which feels like you must do that rather than it being transferred. I’d probably withdraw it, and pay it in to be sure.ChocolateWombat said:Can I just check - if the bank switch brings over £1250 in with it, does that cover the requirement to pay-in £1250? Did you read the letter carefully? If it was anything like mine it said that if you've already successfully provided your documents online, you don't need to sign and return the form.HillStreetBlues said:After getting texts stating my account was open and debt card will arrive within 5 working days, I get a letter in the post I need to sign and return before account can be opened.1
