Netwest allow you to set your own payment limits so you should be able to increase it - although that may need you to be registered for biometrics.pedrodelgado said:Bit antiquated that you can't seem to transfer more than £1000/24hrs on the app from Natwest. Oh well other £250 can go back to Santander tomorrow. Won't register for biometrics because it says haven't used the app enough! Can do it online.....but you need a card reader......which they don't automatically send.
You can use a Nationwide card reader for Natwest, if you happen to have one.0 -
If you have a card reader issued by another bank they will work just as well.pedrodelgado said:Bit antiquated that you can't seem to transfer more than £1000/24hrs on the app from Natwest. Well my switch completed Friday. Deposited £650 from Chase Friday morning. Sent it back this morning and then returned it back to RBS from the Halifax.
So hopefully by tomorrow I'll have satisfied the incentive terms.
Fingers crossed.1 -
Is anyone else doing what I am doing and opening up some more burner accounts ready for the next switch bonuses to be announced by other banks - I have opened Nationwide, Metro, Santander and Chase - having already got active accounts with them the opening process was very easy.0

Use any card reader and that should be fine. Also, once you have set up the biometrics you can alter your daily payment limits. Ulster Bank was defaulting to £5K and with biometrics, I was able to change it to £20K on the spot.pedrodelgado said:Bit antiquated that you can't seem to transfer more than £1000/24hrs on the app from Natwest. When you say you already have active accounts I take it you mean savers?torchie said:Is anyone else doing what I am doing and opening up some more burner accounts ready for the next switch bonuses to be announced by other banks - I have opened Nationwide, Metro, Santander and Chase - having already got active accounts with them the opening process was very easy.
Edit - with knowing that the Co op account needs to be held for 12 months to keep the regular saver (which I do), what I might be doing is moving my direct debits to an account more easily switched. I've not got THAT many viable options left to switch to now, definitely Barclays, but as far as the bigger banks go thats it....maybe HSBC depending on the eligibility criteria but thats doubtful. Other than those its the newer online type banks but at least moving my dds sets me up for this possibility.0 -
Think I've already pretty much taken full advantage of most if not all of the available opportunities. If as I suspect (because I've received one too recently from NatWest) my current quest for an incentive from Ulster proves to be unsuccessful, then my new Select Account is likely to become a burner sooner rather than later.torchie said:Is anyone else doing what I am doing and opening up some more burner accounts ready for the next switch bonuses to be announced by other banks - I have opened Nationwide, Metro, Santander and Chase - having already got active accounts with them the opening process was very easy.0 -
Have either of you now managed to get online, I wonder? My OH is still waiting for the code to arrive in the post and the switch completes on Tuesday.Dharip said:
Got the same issue with Natwest and had a previous closed account a few years ago. Account created fine, debit card arrived and work, and switch in progress but can't register/re-register for online banking. First got an error message saying I'm already registered, called customer service who said they 'unlocked the account' and now getting an error message ENRL0001. Called customer service three more times and no help (one said they would send a paper form, one said they would send an activation code) - doubt either would work if there's a system issue and the activation code could only be entered anyway after my account details are recognised and I would be able to get one on my phone anyway. They even advised not to bother going into branch as they said they would just end up calling customer service.bigstevex said:Strange bag of results for me which is mixed vs what everyone else has, done all 3...
Natwest got my account number etc and a customer number that ends in 0000 which was odd as it usually increases, however I can't login or setup online access even though it's all approved. Iv'e had old accounts though with natwest which i assume has done something.
RBS went smoothly, have account numbers etc and online access is all setup and working
Ulster, didn't need to do hooyu but I just have a reference number and no account details yet
So now the switch is going to complete next week and as it stands I can't check if it's all working properly and I can't get the £200 because I can't login!0 -
I do remember switching to Natwest and I think it was in 2019, but I might be mistaken. The problem is that the account I switched to likely has been switched again
so I am not sure I still access to statements... what would be the easiest way to check? It looks like there is nothing in my email, so maybe switch confirmation has never been sent. Was there any switch incentive between September and November 2019?

It used to annoy me when people came on and asked questions that had already been answered earlier on in the postings. Now I can see why they do this.1
