So, would the £1250 payment into the account be valid from once the account is actually open, or only from the actual switch date?

If from the switch date, would it be valid from that day once you've had the switch confirmation email/text or would it be best to leave the transfer of £1250 until the next actual full day.... IE due to switch tomorrow so deposit the £1250 on Saturday?

Even though I've gone for all 3, I think I might just transfer the £1250 individually into each account, as & when they switch.

Hopefully, I'll get at least £200 from one of the switches

Technically the terms state "within 60 days of switching to your eligible account". While they don't specify that it is 60 days after (vs before), I'd probably wait until the switch has completed.

I'm going to wait at least a day or two after the switch to put the £1250 in, doesn't seem a great hardship to wait a little while and if you did it earlier you would only be worrying whether you needed to do it all again.

Just to double check, if I qualify, I can apply for switches from all 3 brands and get 3 sets of switch rewards?

Not seeking to rain on anybody's parade here for this is the first thing that crossed my mind also, however upon perusing the T&C pdf it became immediately apparant that they've already countered for this eventuallity.

"You can only benefit from this offer once. This means that even if you successfully open more than one eligible
account and meet the conditions of this offer more than once, you’ll only receive one £200 payment."

Therefore, it would appear alas and alack no it it not possible to benefit more than once, let alone three times.
Should anybody still be tempted and further be successful then do let us all know. Should the offer still be available then I'm sure we're all under starters to have a crack at that one...
I'm waiting for the same outcome - I did NatWest switch in December 2019, still use them, my pay-out was in January 2020. The wording on the RBS website is:

If you've previously received a switcher incentive from NatWest Group since 01 January 2020, you will not be eligible for this offer

    Though the terms say

You won’t be eligible to earn £200 if you’ve taken advantage of a cash switcher offer from NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland plc or Ulster Bank since 1 January 2020

Thus in theory I don't qualify but the terms are a bit woolly as I would argue I took advantage in 2019 but they might argue as the incentive was received in 2020 t don't qualify. If anyone who has switched since 2020 gets paid, I will do the switch, if not I can just wait for the next cycle as I don't want to waste time doing a switch and not getting anything. I have a few that were done in 2022 as well so they aren't likely to be available until late next year so not like it's the end of the world to not qualify this time.

    There appears to me to be some conflating of the "..since 1 January 2020.." criteria and people attempting to open 2 or 3 eligible accounts now.. My quote was regarding that. You've had no cash from any of them since 2020, you're eligible to open any or all of the current three but;
"...if you successfully open more than one eligible account and meet the conditions of this offer more than once, you’ll only receive one £200 payment."

Having said that, now I come to think about it, that quote is from the T&C pdf of one individual bank within the group, Natwest. Whether that stricture translates accross the vagaries of the whole group, only time will tell. As someobody said above, should that not be the case then 'that would be terribly lax of them".

However if it does then 'The Double', let alone 'The Triple Crown' therefore being off. Unless, as per my original message some of you 'punks' "feel lucky" and turn out to be so. .....................

This highlights yet more sloppiness in the terms, as opening an eligible account is not a prerequisite of meeting the conditions of the offer. You need only "have" such an account.
I share the opinion of you and several others that the intention of the group is that each customer gets no more than one incentive across the three brands, but due to technical limitations or lack of desire to police it, this is not something they have previously enforced. So the question is will this time be different? We shall find out soon, and I'm sure a second wave will be grateful for the information kindly shared by those at the vanguard.
  • Has anyone tried to switch to Ulster bank yet? Do they ask for the long card number? I have my dummy bank already but I don't have the card yet. I'm planning on doing the switch while waiting for my other (Natwest) to come through
You need the long card number. If you tick the box to say you do not have a card the switch will probably fail. It happened to me a couple of years ago.

There have been a few posts saying that the banks operate independently and don't talk to one another and therefore getting the double/ triple switch incentive should work.
    Maybe.
I have applied for switches into my existing RBS and Ulster accounts.
Today I got near identical texts and emails from RBS and Ulster at exactly the same time saying "Nearly there. All your regular payments have been moved across....etc"
It doesn't look like they are operating independently of each other and I can't say I'm confident that I will soon be £400 richer!

A lot of the back end infrastructure is shared. However, the eligibility checks would need to identify different accounts across the brands belonging to the same individual. It is unclear exactly what checks are done, but when you log in to, say, RBS, online banking doesn't find and display your NatWest accounts. Your online banking profiles are separate and associated with different usernames.
