NatWest/RBS/Ulster £200 Switching Offer 15/2/2024-2/4/2024

Everyone doing the triple or double. I keep checking on here to see if anyone has managed it, or had any repercussions. So it’s on my mind. Well, last night I had dream where I was awarded an A4 laminated certificate, to confirm my new bank accounts, the top half was NatWest, the bottom half RBS. I couldn’t get out of the bank quick enough! 😂

Switch to Ulster Select from Barclays was due today, and had happened before breakfast.
Seems like transferred direct debits don't show in app or online until first payment from new account has been made. Any standing orders should be visible immediately, but I don't have any of those
Now need to decide on timing of the deposit of £1250 into the Select account, but not confident of receiving the incentive after getting one from NatWest only this time last year.0 -

This means that even if you successfully open more than one eligible
account and meet the conditions of this offer more than once, you’ll only receive one £200 payment."Therefore, it would appear alas and alack no it it not possible to benefit more than once, let alone three times.Should anybody still be tempted and further be successful then do let us all know. Should the offer still be available then I'm sure we're all under starters to have a crack at that one...If you've previously received a switcher incentive from NatWest Group since 01 January 2020, you will not be eligible for this offerThough the terms say
You won’t be eligible to earn £200 if you’ve taken advantage of a cash switcher offer from NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland plc or Ulster Bank since 1 January 2020Thus in theory I don't qualify but the terms are a bit woolly as I would argue I took advantage in 2019 but they might argue as the incentive was received in 2020 t don't qualify. If anyone who has switched since 2020 gets paid, I will do the switch, if not I can just wait for the next cycle as I don't want to waste time doing a switch and not getting anything. I have a few that were done in 2022 as well so they aren't likely to be available until late next year so not like it's the end of the world to not qualify this time.
There appears to me to be some conflating of the "..since 1 January 2020.." criteria and people attempting to open 2 or 3 eligible accounts now.. My quote was regarding that. You've had no cash from any of them since 2020, you're eligible to open any or all of the current three but;"...if you successfully open more than one eligible account and meet the conditions of this offer more than once, you’ll only receive one £200 payment."Having said that, now I come to think about it, that quote is from the T&C pdf of one individual bank within the group, Natwest. Whether that stricture translates accross the vagaries of the whole group, only time will tell. As someobody said above, should that not be the case then 'that would be terribly lax of them".However if it does then 'The Double', let alone 'The Triple Crown' therefore being off. Unless, as per my original message some of you 'punks' "feel lucky" and turn out to be so. .....................
I have received a switcher incentive since 1/1/2020 - it was paid in mid-Jan, maybe Feb? 2020
However, I would say I took advantage of the switcher offer before 1/1/2020 as I switched in 2019
Hence I am happy to wait and see if anyone gets a payout before switching - if they do, great, if not, I will wait for the next offer cycle. As I said I have a few that did in 22 - First Direct, Nationwide, Santander and Lloyds so an HSBC switch maybe later year or 2025 could happen for exampleSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Had the SMS saying my switch from Halifax (had the same account since 1988!) is complete. Not sure whether to put the £1250 in now or wait till the 2nd switch (TSB to Nat West) is done.
General consensus seems to be IF it is possible to get multiple £200s then do the £1250s as simultaneously as you can so I'll probably do that.0 -

Hello, has anyone mentioned the new requirement to leave the £1,250 in for at least 24 hours (RBS)? Seems like a new one to me, and I'm running out of banks that I haven't switched from! Lack of DD requirements was nice.
Might join the Ulster and NatWest bandwagon too and give it a go; I had a NW account for years, but didn't receive a switch bonus before 2020. Wish I could get my partner involved, but she's having none of it. I'm still trying to show her that I can, in fact, budget, I just let my credit card "stoozing" experiments turn into "ah, time to aggressively pay those balances down before I incur interest"...1 -

Natwest got my account number etc and a customer number that ends in 0000 which was odd as it usually increases, however I can't login or setup online access even though it's all approved. Iv'e had old accounts though with natwest which i assume has done something.
RBS went smoothly, have account numbers etc and online access is all setup and working
Ulster, didn't need to do hooyu but I just have a reference number and no account details yet
So now the switch is going to complete next week and as it stands I can't check if it's all working properly and I can't get the £200 because I can't login!0 -
My OH's having the same re-registering problem as you. He is awaiting an activation code in the mail, whenever it gets here. His switch happens on Tuesday.0

That's hilarious!
I didn't jump on this straight away so others are way ahead of me.- My Natwest switch is next week
- RBS is now all setup, confirmed just now that this is switching next week
- Ulster is much slower, the ID request didn't come in until yesterday & that's been processed so waiting for them to set the account up and confirm the switch.
I plan to wait for them to all switch before adding in the £1,250 but by those who did this straight away should have reported back on their success or failure!
