The money needs to stay into the account for 24 hours.Yorkshire_Pud said:
Please enlighten me because what has 24hours got to do with 5+ days? Thanks.WillPS said:Yorkshire_Pud said:
Yes because they are making sure no one does the in/out shuffle, say £250 five times in a day. Don’t know the answer to the second part of your question.paddyposh said:Does the £1250 actually have to stay in for 24 hours? Or anyone had any joy by depositing and taking it back out sooner
The in/out shuffle is still perfectly possible, it just takes 5+ days. The point above the 24 hours one makes this clear.
So if you paid in £250 waited 24 hours then transferred it out, then back in again and repeat, it would take a minimum of 5 days.

I believe the idea is that you must leave money in the account for 1 day - but you could move £250 in, leave it for a day move out, then move £250 back in, leave it for a day etc rather than doing £1250 all in one goYorkshire_Pud said:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Hi
Following on from my post above, sorry if I'm being dim, but how would it be possible to open a new account with all three NatWest, Ulster and RBS now and get paid 3 x switching bonus? Because the terms say: "If you've previously received a switcher incentive from NatWest Group since 01 January 2020".
Doesn't this mean that once you open one account and get paid for switching, that will constitute a switcher incentive since 1 Jan 2020, meaning that by the time open the other two accounts, a bonus will have been paid and you won't get it again for the second two accounts.
Apols if I'm missing something?!0 -
No, according to the terms you're eligible for this offer with one of the three banks assuming you haven't received a switching offer from any of the three banks since January 2020.Advice2017 said:
I am eligible for this offer with all three banks, NatWest, Ulster and RBS. Have I correctly understood, that it is possible to apply now for a new account with all three N, U and RBS and switch in and get the incentive three times?
However, based on how they've operated this in the past many on here have received incentives from all three banks as each seems to run independently. There's no guarantee that this will happen this time. We just have to wait and see.
Yes, no DDs needed. You need to pay in £1,250 and leave it there for at least 24 hours. You can do this all together or in stages.Advice2017 said:
Am I correct that no direct debits are needed? The only requirement is to pay in the £1,250 and log in on mobile app? That would make it much easier as I don't have DDs on the donor account.
Yes, you can do this. They could object/cancel if they wanted to but I've never heard of them doing this.Advice2017 said:
I only have one spare account to switch in, but I do have Chase, so have I correctly understood it's easy to open 2 more now with Chase and just immediately switch them out. Can't Chase object/cancel this if you do switch away so quickly?2 -
OK I get it now! I will do the £1250 for 24 hours however as that seems how they intended it to work and I don’t want to give them a chance to deny me the £200, or extend the receipt of it. But yes for folks with less than their £1250 it’s good there is a workaround.HillStreetBlues said:

Strictly speaking you are correct - the T&CS only allow one incentive to be paid.Advice2017 said:Hi

NatWest/RBS/Ulster have historically not checked thoroughly enough however and many people have been paid multiple incentives in the past. People are gambling on this happening again, hence all the talk about the triple switch, etc.0 -
You could do it with about £22, can't see anyone trying that thou.Yorkshire_Pud said:

I've applied for the Ulster account, as I would like the Loyalty Saver. During the application it gave me the reserved account details and allowed me to pick the switch date and choose a memorable password.
I was expecting to do the ID process during the application like Natwest, but didn't get the option. All I got was a application reference and statement they will complete their final checks and text or email within the next few days to advise on the next steps. Also statement saying once we receive your paperwork, we'll complete your application.
Did all other Ulster new customers have the same or did you provide ID during the application?0 -
Thank you very much danny13579 for your helpful replies. I will try all 3 then, nothing to lose I guess. Fingers crossed!1
