NatWest/RBS/Ulster £200 Switching Offer 15/2/2024-2/4/2024

Unless things have changed this year compared to previous years (which is possible, though I think unlikely) that's not how it works. Each bank seems to operate independently of each other hence why many of us have received bonuses from all 3 in the past. They don't just all appear in people's accounts at the same time.Nasqueron said:I suspect the idea is that if they all trigger payment together the banks may not pick up on it until too late - though not to say they won't simply take the money back
You can apply for 2 or all 3 at the same time, fulfil all the criteria at the same time, but you won't necessarily receive 2 or 3 bonuses at the same time. There can be days in between receiving each one.3 -
Still no update as to when my account is opened but app all set up! Just waiting for account to be available on the app! Did anyone get instant decision? Or did you have to wait 2 days

In my experience the payment timescales vary between the three brands.

It's "within 60 days of switching to your eligible account". It is unclear whether it's within 60 days of the switch starting or completing.movingon said:Why can't you put the money in now, no matter whether you are going for the triple or not? I don't think it is clear that they want the money after you have switched is it? "Deposit £1,250 into your account and log in to our mobile banking app within 60 days" (after applying to switch)0 -
What I mean is, they are presumably hoping to push this through to try and get the 3x bonuses together hoping to prevent any internal systems picking up this if they are paid in quick succession rather than doing 1 a week. If the bank comms talk to each other and a box is ticked saying a bonus is paid then doing it within 2 seconds or 2 weeks won't matter.danny13579 said:

I didn't say they wouldn't get it or that the banks won't be able to check, but they may well have changed their systems now and if you got one from say NatWest in January 2020 (as I did) then an RBS bonus may not pay out if you switch, hence I'm not doing this one unless someone else gets paid out in that situation.Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

They may have or they may not have. Unless someone on here works for NatWest we don't know. I'm not expecting to get anything from this offer but it doesn't mean I'm not going to try.Nasqueron said:but they may well have changed their systems now and if you got one from say NatWest in January 2020 (as I did) then an RBS bonus may not pay out if you switch, hence I'm not doing this one unless someone else gets paid out in that situation.1 -
So you think it's ok to transfer the £1250 in each, once each switch completes IE mine complete in 3, 6 & 7 days, rather than wait til they've all completed?danny13579 said:

I've never applied or had any previous switch bonus from any of these 3 btw0 -
Anyone signed up with Ulster? Got confirmation of a switch date from them. Got a text saying card and PIN is on the way.
But no email or anything with account number or sort code. No online banking details either.0 -
Yes, each switch is separate to each other. You have 60 days do to this anyway so if you want to be extra extra cautious you could just wait and do it all together after the 7 days.SickGroove said:So you think it's ok to transfer the £1250 in each, once each switch completes IE mine complete in 3, 6 & 7 days, rather than wait til they've all completed?
I don't think it makes any difference really when you transfer your £1,250, the terms say "within 60 days of switching to your eligible account", it's unclear whether it's within 60 days of the switch starting or completing, so I think it's probably safer to wait until it has completed.1 -
Last year when I did all three, they were weeks apart, and they all paid out. I wasn't trying to beat the system by doing them all at once, as it gave them plenty of time to apply the restrictions.Nasqueron said:

If they have tightened things up, not sure what the outcome of trying all three at once could be.0
