Maybe it’s normal but heard some people are accepted instantly! What check do yo they need to do? Did they say?0

They've also done a hard search. Not sure why , as I've not applied for any credit. Maybe that's just normal.
You have applied for credit in the form of a potential unarranged overdraft. Perfectly normal for current account applications - it's more notable when providers don't hard search (Starling without overdraft, Monzo without overdraft, Chase without overdraft, Co-op Cashminder, Santander Basic, LBG for existing customers).

Just to check, and apologies if it has been asked already, can I open a Starling account today as well as a Chase account, then once set up straight away apply for Natwest & RBS and do the switch?
Or is there a certain amount of time they need to be open first before doing a switch.
I know they may not accept be back for a while, but I don't mind. Plus I heard you can have sub accounts within Chase, so possible to have two accounts there and just switch out one of them?0 -

Make sure you keep at least one without a switch otherwise they'll permanently close your account (no way back). No minimum time it has to stay open, but be aware it may be viewed by some providers dimly (plenty do exactly this with Chase tho).1 -

Ok thank you. So I could set up a Chase account, and then open 2 sub accounts and use those 2 to switch for the offers? And it will keep the main one open?0 -

Exactly that. Takes less than a minute to open a sub account, and you're given the sort code and account number immediately so no waiting to initiate the switches. You can even name and colour code them, to make it even more idiot proof! My 3 accounts are <MY NAME>, Chase 2 NWest and Chase 3 RBS.

I cannot get past the ID stage with Chase, I think its the actual ID not my selfie. Whenever I look at the picture that has been taken it looks fine, perfectly clear, no glare etc.
Obviously you can't see the image but what could be causing this issue? Won't affect this switch but if I can open a Chase account I will.0 -
This morning, as well as several messages about debit cards and PINs, I have received a message from NatWest that my switch is underway (that one's from Barclays) and a message from Chase that my second account is being switched to RBS.
Nothing so far (on switching) from either Barclays or RBS.0 -

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
