Yes.tg99 said:Have opened a second Chase. I selected to keep my card spending from my first account so presumably when switching this second account I just select the ‘no debit card’ option when RBS asks me if I have a debit card for the account being switched?1 -
Good idea unless you support Norwich city 😉🤣!NorwichMan said:Take care not to overdo things 😎
Can you get switch offer from all 3 RBS NatWest or Ulster at the same time or is it just once?
can you open Ulster or RBS if your in England?1 -
Yes to your second question. I dunno about the first, I think some people are trying.GTR_King said:Can you get switch offer from all 3 RBS NatWest or Ulster at the same time or is it just once?

And, go Canaries!0 -
Ulster offers the highest interest rate for easy excess once you have in excess of £5000 whereas the RBS and Nat West reward account has a higher interest rate but it takes sometime to have any worthwhile money in it as monthly deposit of £150 maximum plus round updanny13579 said:
Not really. I ditched the Ulster account as soon as I got the bonus but kept the NatWest and am still using it. I think it's because NatWest offered the Reward account, I don't remember Ulster offering it. Other than that Ulster sent me out a book of lodgement giros which was amusing as I hadn't seen one in around 2 decades (and which went straight into my recycling bin!).HillStreetBlues said:
I might give it a go, had an incentive from Natwest in June 2020 that I'm currently my main account.danny13579 said:If you didn't receive an incentive from RBS since 2020 then I would say your chances are quite high of getting one from NatWest. Yes, the rules say only one incentive from the NatWest group since 2020 but unless things have changed in the past year (which I doubt), all three seem to act independently from each other and many of us have received incentives from all three.
So thinking of switch a Lloyds account to either Ulster or RBS, is ther any real different between those two?

have you applied for all three simultaneously?bobeschism said:
I've also gone for the triple. If they all go through, it will take me up to £1550 since I started switching last November!sparky0138 said:
It's just a welcome letter to say your account is ready to use, no switch date.CGG_3 said:I opened a new NatWest account yesterday, and scribbled the 'potential' sort code and account no. down. Did the ID process, okay but was left with the message about running a few checks that could take 24 hours. This morning I have an email from them saying to log in to see my Mailbox as there is a message about my new account ending in '477'. (477 matching the 'potential' account from the application).
I last banked with NatWest seven years ago and have no idea of my old log in details.
I gather from their help, that it will be quicker to wait for the new bank card to arrive to get myself back online, to actually read the message, but for those that have also just opened a new NatWest account and have had the same email, is this just a generic 'Welcome to NatWest' message with no instructions to do anything? Or does it have info of a switching date as well?
Thanks
I've gone for it! 😁yourlocalcheesemonger said:So who's attempted the triple crown?(switching to NatWest, RBS, and Ulster simulatneously)
Yep. Switching to Ulster from Co-op which I got the incentive for earlier this week, and into Nat West and RBS from two Chase secondary accounts that I set up on Thursday. He who dares, Rodney!

I had this issue last year, having already just opened RBS and Ulster accounts I thought it was related to too much recent activity on my credit report. I didn't appeal. Might give Natwest another try.CRISPIANNE3 said:
I have a NW credit card with them and a healthy limit plus on their site they have approved me for another card with no fee. Also when I completed the application it was pre populated and as no overdraft was required it just wanted to know when I moved into my property and then performed credit check. So it in affect just had my personal details full name, dob, address. Then it wanted the switch details and after that the ID checks etc.Rawrzy said:CRISPIANNE3 said:
I have heard from the applications team advising I passed all the checks and goes to the processing team for final checks and check previous history , Equifax and hunter. However I closed my NW account over 3 years ago with no issues and have a NW cc. They said I can appeal.CRISPIANNE3 said:I applied and everything seemed to be going well and the account was reserved for. me. They then said they would need to carry out final checks and then declined my application. Not sure why as was accepted for the Co op bank and Barclays and nothing on my credit report to spook them. Also I have a Natwest credit card and is no issues there. Also I do not remember being asked for my occupation or income and details of my previous address as only moved here about 1 year ago.
Never had a problem with Barclays or the Co op so not sure what this is all about. Never mind I have my £150 from the co op to look forward to.If you appeal you'll likely be able to apply over the phone instead. I had something similar happen with RBS before. I applied, it said the account was ready, then instantly after I got a email saying they couldn't offer me an account. I appealed and they said to apply over the phone and it should work fine. Which I did do, and got the account opened that way, unfortunately it does mean you'll have a second hard check from them. From what I've seen of previous NW group switch threads, it's reasonably common. They seem to have some criteria they auto reject for, who knows what that is.I'd recommend not bothering with Ulster also. They seem to also have the same criteria too, but unfortunately don't allow appeals. So you'll likely hit the same snag there, but there's no way to get over the road block.Overall I found the scenario a bit odd, at the time my main account was with Natwest, and I didn't even have many hard checks on my record since it was one of my first switches, my record was otherwise clean. I've also done many switches since, with obviously way more checks on my history at that point, and no issues.
It may have something to do with switching recently to Barclays and Co op bank.
Anyway have put an appeal in but not expecting anything to happen.

I'm sure they do, but none of those has ever posted out one of these automatically to me after opening an account with them.RBS NAT WEST LLOYDS BARCLAYS SANTANDER

Yes. There were widely reported tech gremlins on Thursday night when I first tried, then opened both on Friday morning without an issue.

For those who have applied to switch into an existing Natwest / RBS / Ulster current and chose to switch as soon as possible, has anyone got a switch date yet and what day did you apply? Thks0
