"Pay £1,250 into your eligible account within 60 days of switching to your eligible account"torchie said:Well, I have opened the Ulster Bank account - what a breeze. I already use their Instant Access 5.2% account so a lot of the application form was pre-populated. Got the account number and sort code immediately. Now to pay in the £1250.
I think you have to wait until the switch completes before paying in the £1250, to meet the eligibility criteria.1 -
It's just a welcome letter to say your account is ready to use, no switch date.CGG_3 said:I opened a new NatWest account yesterday, and scribbled the 'potential' sort code and account no. down. Did the ID process, okay but was left with the message about running a few checks that could take 24 hours. This morning I have an email from them saying to log in to see my Mailbox as there is a message about my new account ending in '477'. (477 matching the 'potential' account from the application).
I last banked with NatWest seven years ago and have no idea of my old log in details.
I gather from their help, that it will be quicker to wait for the new bank card to arrive to get myself back online, to actually read the message, but for those that have also just opened a new NatWest account and have had the same email, is this just a generic 'Welcome to NatWest' message with no instructions to do anything? Or does it have info of a switching date as well?
Thanks
I've gone for it! 😁yourlocalcheesemonger said:So who's attempted the triple crown?(switching to NatWest, RBS, and Ulster simulatneously)2 -

If you apply by phone will you qualify for the incentive?Rawrzy said:CRISPIANNE3 said:
I have heard from the applications team advising I passed all the checks and goes to the processing team for final checks and check previous history , Equifax and hunter. However I closed my NW account over 3 years ago with no issues and have a NW cc. They said I can appeal.CRISPIANNE3 said:I applied and everything seemed to be going well and the account was reserved for. me. They then said they would need to carry out final checks and then declined my application. Not sure why as was accepted for the Co op bank and Barclays and nothing on my credit report to spook them. Also I have a Natwest credit card and is no issues there. Also I do not remember being asked for my occupation or income and details of my previous address as only moved here about 1 year ago.
Never had a problem with Barclays or the Co op so not sure what this is all about. Never mind I have my £150 from the co op to look forward to.If you appeal you'll likely be able to apply over the phone instead. I had something similar happen with RBS before. I applied, it said the account was ready, then instantly after I got a email saying they couldn't offer me an account. I appealed and they said to apply over the phone and it should work fine. Which I did do, and got the account opened that way, unfortunately it does mean you'll have a second hard check from them. From what I've seen of previous NW group switch threads, it's reasonably common. They seem to have some criteria they auto reject for, who knows what that is.I'd recommend not bothering with Ulster also. They seem to also have the same criteria too, but unfortunately don't allow appeals. So you'll likely hit the same snag there, but there's no way to get over the road block.Overall I found the scenario a bit odd, at the time my main account was with Natwest, and I didn't even have many hard checks on my record since it was one of my first switches, my record was otherwise clean. I've also done many switches since, with obviously way more checks on my history at that point, and no issues.
Yes, I got the incentive fine. You just have to start the switch on the natwest/rbs website when the account is open and you can login it. There should be an option to select you're an existing customer, which will take you to the form.

I've also gone for the triple. If they all go through, it will take me up to £1550 since I started switching last November!sparky0138 said:

So do you have to wait till your Debit card & pin has arrived & switch completed before the you transfer money in! Can you transfer the money in stages?0
-
Terms say to do it within 60 days of switching. Probably safest to wait until the switch completes.GTR_King said:So do you have to wait till your Debit card & pin has arrived & switch completed before the you transfer money in!
Yes, but make sure to leave each stage in for at least 24 hours before moving it.Can you transfer the money in stages?0 -
I asked one of their chat agents about this as I was unable to register for online banking using the account number and sort code, and they said to wait a bit longer and try again after card arrives. I don't think they had any idea really. I had an RBS account back in 2019 and don't have my old log in details.sparky0138 said:CGG_3 said:I opened a new NatWest account yesterday, and scribbled the 'potential' sort code and account no. down. I have a NW credit card with them and a healthy limit plus on their site they have approved me for another card with no fee. Also when I completed the application it was pre populated and as no overdraft was required it just wanted to know when I moved into my property and then performed credit check. So it in affect just had my personal details full name, dob, address. Then it wanted the switch details and after that the ID checks etc.Rawrzy said:CRISPIANNE3 said:

It may have something to do with switching recently to Barclays and Co op bank.
Anyway have put an appeal in but not expecting anything to happen.

I switched to NatWest in 2018 and got bonus. The account is still ongoing. Do I read the TC correct that I do not need to open a new NatWest account but instead just switch to this existing account to get another bonus?0
