  • Well, I think I've done this. Seemed to go ok, except it took the picture before I removed glasses! But it seemed to accept this.
Downloaded the app, but it says the account is not available to view yet. Maybe that's normal. Will check again in a day or two. Switched from FD.

So, if you are new to NatWest and apply to open a current account will the process automatically give you the opportunity to switch in your external account to get the switch reward.

I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
    There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.

Is there a minimum length of time after opening a Chase account that I should wait before switching to Nat West for the incentive?

Can I open an new account with bank A  today then once account is opened  switch to bank B to get the award?
Plus you need active derict debits so they take time to become active
Not in order to get the switch incentive.

It asked for the external account number, as part of the signing up process.
  • Just for my own future reference (hopefully I'm on course for this particular switch) - I opened a Metro Bank account when their saver rate was the best.

Would that be classed as a current account for future switches?

The one aspect of this switch I liked was you could see prior to continuing whether or not your account was eligible, as I did it in a hurry I'd never given Metro a thought.

Well, I have opened the Ulster Bank account - what a breeze.  I already use their Instant Access 5.2% account so a lot of the application form was pre-populated.  Got the account number and sort code immediately. Now to pay in the £1250.

Switched to NatWest in Feb 2023.

Got another current account with another bank I was contemplating switching to RBS for the incentive. Terms and conditions say won’t be eligible if have received an incentive since 2020.

What are the chances of getting an incentive again?

    Low but not zero.

If you didn't receive an incentive from RBS since 2020 then I would say your chances are quite high of getting one from NatWest. Yes, the rules say only one incentive from the NatWest group since 2020 but unless things have changed in the past year (which I doubt), all three seem to act independently from each other and many of us have received incentives from all three.
