are you planning to do it ?

I'm doing the Lloyds one now and once that's complete I'll open a Chase and Metro (apparently those are the easiest) or something easy and switch those three to NatWest/RBS/Ulster at the same time.

I assume there's no downside, as in they won't punish me for pushing the system and give me nothing. Worst case I'll only get one £200 reward.

Is there a free account to open and switch? The terms and conditions say only fee charged accounts are eligible.
Hope so as I've switched to a free one.

Edit - mine will be a 'Select' account which as far as I can see is eligible.
Thanks, got confused on the website as it kept referring to the free 'select' account as 'every day bank account'. All signed up now.

How do you register for online banking, I've had a few texts since applying for the account. One of which is the 'customer number' but don't seem to be able to continue far into the app to sign up. Is the debit card needed for this in due course or an activation code?
I just went on and signed up online, as long as you know your customer number its relatively straightforward.
Not tried the app yet, I've been looking on here intermittently to see how things were going for everyone else in terms of cards/£1250
Think the £1250 has to be in for 24hrs AFTER the switch has taken place . Thats the way I read it anyway. My switch date is next Friday so I'll wait till following Monday to do it. Got 60 days to do it.
Oh yeah I knew it wasn't to be done yet, think mine will be the same day too.

All done in about 3 minutes via the Natwest app, opened a secondary account and it pre populated all my details then I just had to provide details of the account I was switching from and job done :)

A couple of other questions I've now thought of...

1)Does it matter if I transfer the £1,250 from my other Natwest account into the new account? (Can't see anything obvious in the terms advising it has to come from a different bank)

2)I have one of the linked £150 month digital regular savers to my existing account, would I now be allowed a second digital regular saver for the new account or is that just one per customer?

AFAIK, it's one reg saver regardless of how many current accounts you have.

The T&Cs make it clear that you need to keep the £1250 in the account for 24hrs.... how that works in practise we don't know yet, but I'm sure people will report in next week how it all goes
  • So who's attempted the triple crown?

(switching to NatWest, RBS, and Ulster simulatneously)

Ulster didn't like me when I tried to open an account last year, but I have an NatWest and RBS account I'm switching into atm. Switches should complete next week, so lets see how it all works out.
  • Apologies if this has been asked already, opening up an Ulster account (I’m in England) what are people doing for the branch? I’ve put my postcode in but says there is no results

so are you applying for both of them simultaneously?

When I did this last year, the instruction was to use a Belfast branch post code.
    Try this
     Ulster branch14 High Street,BT78 1BJ
  • I think I’ve applied to open an Ulster account.  Went through all the questions, but in the switch details then it said it was running checks, and proceeded me to close the page. Haven’t had an email or anything with the account details, is this normal? If I don’t hear anything by early next week I’ll try again

Anyone aware of any downsides of switching both my no longer available TSB classic plus current accounts away? Not paid the original high interest rate for a few years now since reduced to zero so can’t ever see these accounts having any benefits. I still have the Spend & Save and Reg Saver.
