I now have a switch date from Natwest, its completing on 9th (next tuesday) will the £1250 payment in work for the Incentive if i pay it in now rather than after switch has finalised?

I'm away next week so would rather send the money in now rather than when i am away?  if not i can do it on my return.

I've yet to receive my £200 from Ulster, paid in £1250 on 28/03 although had to take out £300 on 01/04

Will give it a couple more days just in case the bank holidays have delayed it, I can also probably stick £300 back in after tomorrow if needed but in theory the full £1250 was present for more than 24 hours...

I did my NW one same date and got mine earlier today. Ulster are a tad slower I believe

Got my activation code from Ulster a couple of hours ago and now have online and app banking with them. My switch date is 8th April. The wife finally got a text to say her NatWest switch has gone through after 15 days and loads of chat messages. What a palava!

    Disaster with RBS.

    Applied online, got rejected.

Appealed via email and got approved but had to sign up over phone.

Spend 30 mins on phone signing up - get a confirmation text next day from Natwest.

Called them up and turns out they accidentally signed me up for Natwest instead (they handle all 3 banks in 1 call centre).

Had to go through the entire sign up process again (now 3 hard credit checks on my name!). Haven't received my details to start the switch yet...

Do you guys think I have a chance in complaining and getting extra £ added to the incentive for all this faff?

After seeing everyone's success I think I will attempt to go for the triple bonus. Originally I only intended to get the NatWest. The switch to them has been completed but I haven't put in enough money yet for the bonus so *technically* I'm still within the rules for getting a bonus at any of the banks, and hopefully all 3 if lucky. Trouble is I'm short on money so I can't satisfy the switch conditions at all 3 banks at the same time, so there'll be a few days for the system to potentially catch me out. We shall see.
Update: I've now got the RBS bonus as well as the NatWest. Just need to wait for Ulster now, but overall it was pretty straight forward.

Side note: I don't know why they even put in their terms about only getting a bonus at one of the three banks if they're not even checking.

I think I shall moan on here more often, Ulster now received around 5:30pm :)

Plus £200 in Premium Bonds this month so a profitable day!
  • Sorry if it has been asked previously, but are the group paying out e.g. for RBS to Natwest switch or vice-versa? Thanks

I'd assume they believe most people will follow the rules and not try it, the number of people who switch is fairly small anyway and the dedicated MSEers who try for this sort of stuff are a tiny subset of even that

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
