I think it says 'within 60 days' and I think previous discussion has determined that before or after was OK.

Pay £1,250 into your eligible account within 60 days of switching to your eligible account.Nasqueron said:
It may work, it may not, I just don't see any point in ignoring the terms that say pay in after the switch completes - at best, you get the money, at worst, you have to bump the money back in again for another 24 hours potentially losing a bit of interest or not having the funds available again. It may not make any difference but you have 60 days anyway so why not just do it per the terms and avoid any gamble?RG2015 said:
I think there is some misunderstanding here. I am commenting on two different statements by two different people.danny13579 said:
This is incorrect. They are both the same. The fact that many people have received their bonuses when they deposited their £1,250 before the switch completion date confirms this.RG2015 said:
Not as described in the respective posts.danny13579 said:
One is after the switch has commenced and the other is after the switch has finalised.

" I now have a switch date from Natwest, its completing on 9th (next tuesday) will the £1250 payment in work for the Incentive if i pay it in now rather than after switch has finalised?"
@Nasqueron said;
".....there isn't really anything to be gained by ignoring the terms of the switch and paying early"
How can these two be describing the same thing?
I guess its the interpretation of the timing of switching. Some may assume completion, as I did originally before @danny13579 suggested otherwise. And others assume commencement.
My experience with NatWest is certainly consistent with switching commencement.1 -
I much prefer the wording of Santander's switch offer - "within 60 days of telling us to start the switch". Hopefully NatWest take note for their next offer, though I doubt it!RG2015 said:Pay £1,250 into your eligible account within 60 days of switching to your eligible account.

I got one of those as well. My understanding is you only need to send the signature back if they couldn't ID you using online methods. Since I did it online I didn't send the signature form back and the account was still opened and I still got the £200. Though there's probably no harm in sending it anyway if you want to be sure.goatfaced said:Ulster want me to return my letter, it needs a signature. I've done the identification online, so the signature is all they want. It sounds like the rest of you got a different letter to me, hmph!2 -
According to Ulster (through email and through an agent on Cora), they didn't have the first line of my address. This is despite me entering it when applying online three weeks ago, them sending paper documents to my address, me taking the enclosed forms that showed my full address to a local Natwest branch, a human looking at the forms, scanning and sending them to ulstar, and doing the sae with my photo ID which also shows my full address...Ponchos said:
I've today had a text from Ulster asking me to go to their site, chat with the Cora help bot and quote "Provide information about my application" along with a reference number. I've tried going through this but it's currently out of hours for connecting to a human agent.Ponchos said:
I don't know if anyone else is in the same position but I'll share just in case...Ponchos said:
I've been waiting for two weeks for Ulster to get in touch about opening my account, I applied on the 12th and did the Hooyu thing on the 13th, and since then I've heard nothing. Many people have said it takes them longer to do things but I didn't think they would be this slow! Fingers crossed for us both!anna42hmr said:
I wonder if MSE have been given the heads up for their publications.bioboybill said:I just checked the T&Cs on Natwest and Ulster bank, and there is no mention of April 2nd.
Hopefully i will be able to request switch in time, as waiting on the account to be opened (applied on sunday without requesting a switch yet). I had a text with the account number from Natwest today and stating they will email when the account is open, so hopefully once get that i can apply for online banking and then put the request in for a switch. (the latest email had, also from today states that they are getting the account ready and will be open soon, but need to run a few checks???)
Strangely the text message states a customer number but the digits at the end that should follow the date of birth are all zeros so either that is an error, or there is all zeros after the date of birth, if its an error, hopefully that won't slow things down.
After two weeks of silence, I spoke to Ulster thorugh live chat last night, they told me that the selfie i sent with Hooyu wasn't good enough and so they couldn't proceed with my application. I had the same problem when applying to Natwest but NW told me about this via email and rejected my application (I applied again with NW and it workied the second time). However, Ulster did not tell me about this and as many people in here said that Ulster take longer to do thigs I thought it was normal. Thankfully I contacted them. I was told that my application was still open though (unlike NW who rejected me), and I could finish applying and confirming my identity with help form the paper documents they sent me (which again seems like many people here received but could disregard becaue Hooyu worked). As I'm not anywhere near Belfast, and as I was not going to post them my ID, they advised that I could go to a NW or RBS branch and present the paper documents and my ID in person. There is a NW branch near me and I've just got back from having the paper forms and my ID scanned and that should hopefully mean an account will be opened (and I also chose to switch so that has been applied before before 2nd April).
It's been a faff but hopefully that's it now, and once this UB account it open I can complete the cash despoits and reclaim the incentives. The woman in NW did actually say that the Hooyu system has good and bad days and that many people have problems with it, so if anyone is still waiting on UB for and update, maybe get in touch with their live chat and ask for an update.
Has anyone else had this on their Ulster application and if so, what is it about? Ulster are really starting to pee me off now...!
That should be that now, "if the account department don't need anything else, the account should be opened in 1-2 working days".
Honestly, not even Barclays were this much of a faff!0 -
If you haven't had text/email confirmation from them saying the account is being opened then get in touch with them through the Cora chat system on their website. I had heard they were slow opening accounts but after two weeks I'd heard nothing, and it turned out that even though Hooyu accepted my selfie, the human that these photos are passed onto for verification deemed it not suitable and couldn't progress. My application was still open, and I could return the paper documents (sounds like the ones you have received) to a local RBS or Natwest branch, along with my photo ID, so they could confirm my identity there. It's a faff for sure, but it seems we can't assume the Hooyu system has identified us even when it says it has done. The woman in the Natwest branch I went to even said that Hooyu sometimes doesn't work and a lot of people have had trouble with it. I had to apply to natwest itself twice as the first attempt failed on a selfie but the application was rejected, it worked the second time, and RBS worked first time. In all, four applications, hooyu worked twice! Ridiculous system!goatfaced said:Ulster want me to return my letter, it needs a signature. That is much better. Sadly I have had a recent Santander switch so didn't qualify.danny13579 said:

My experience with NatWest is certainly consistent with switching commencement.
My previous NatWest switch was prior to their reference date of 1 Jan 2020, although part of that switch offer was a £50 bonus for staying 12 months. The £50 was paid in June 2021, so one could conclude that I had received an incentive bonus since 1 Jan 2020.
That particular ambiguity is moot now. As to staying with NatWest, I have been with them since 1975 and had two switching bonuses for the account.
Verdict, accounts good, bonuses good, wording could do better.1 -
Woohoo got the NatWest £200 today, thats me got both RBS and NW and just leaves Ulster, which is currently mid-switch. Can't complain at all. Thanks OP for bringing it to my attention.2

Just a question on timing - switch completed today (snuck in just before the offer closed), lumped £1,250 into it today, going to leave it until Wednesday to be safe and then move it back out - is that too soon to count as being put in "after" the switch completed?urs sinserly,

That should be fine. When I did it with NatWest the switch bonus was paid before the 24 hrs was up, whilst Ulster was a few days after. I think others reported earlier that the 24 hours may not be strictly required, but better to be safe than sorry.JuicyJesus said:Just a question on timing - switch completed today (snuck in just before the offer closed), lumped £1,250 into it today, going to leave it until Wednesday to be safe and then move it back out - is that too soon to count as being put in "after" the switch completed?0
