I have completed a Switch from Chase to a Current account I already had with Ulster.   Do I still need to fund the account with £1250 even though it was an account already in use?
Yes you do I'm afraid unless you have a regular payment already going in.

    Cheers

Well, something slightly unexpected happened. Our TSB switches finally completed on Wednesday (they were due Tues 26th March). I moved £1250 in to my account on Thursday, and pulled it out today. When my wife went to check it arrived in her account, she saw £1450 because the switcher bonus had already been paid! Still waiting for my payment.

I suspect that means the £1250 doesn't have to be paid in after the switch completes, as her account briefly held her annual LISA deposit (for a few hours, but more like 8 than 24!).

I've never used any of the Natwest banks before this offer popped up on MSE.

If anything, this switch process has convinced me to never use these banks in the future.

I'm grateful for the switch bonus cash, but their systems are antiquated and completely outdated.

Not fit for purpose in 2024. No way I'd trust these accounts for my 'real' banking.

My Ulster switch completed two weeks ago and I'm STILL unable to log in using the activation codes.

They're certainly quite retrograde on the new customer experiences, but IMHO once set up everything is quite good. RBS/Natwest Reward can easily make a bit of money with very little effort too.

Ulster is a bit of a weird and very slow one, but once you are set up, they are fine. The app, same as the Natwest and RBS app, is rather good IMO.

I also think the switch offers of the Natwest group are very good. I was suprised I got a switch bonus from Natwest, RBS and Ulster. And even more surprised to get a second switch bonus from Natwest. £800 up so far - thank you Natwest Group  :) . I'll be back when there's another switch offer

I agree. Natwest and RBS aren't too bad but Ulster are shockingly bad, I reckon they're still using dial-up modems and Windows 95. The Hooyu system they all use is awful, so needlessly bad and even when it says you're photo and ID have been confirmed, this doesn't mean they're actually accepted by the banks. I'll be happy once I've claimed the three bonuses but I also wouldn't use them for general banking. I was looking at Ulster for a savings account last year due to a good interest rate, I'm so glad I didn't go with them!

I finally got accepted for Ulster and the switch started on Friday (despite applying on March 12th), and the switch will complete next Friday, but if signing into the app/online banking is a nightmare then who knows when I'll be able to claim the bonus.

Ulster is not being the slow one for me!
Had switches completing same day for NatWest and Ulster, was getting every email and alert at the exact same minute through the 7 days. Ulster completed in the morning and NatWest in the afternoon on the day and Ulster paid the bonus the next day but still waiting for NatWest, but there is still time for it to pay out.

Yes, I think in fact it just needs to be in there at a certain time each night to count. But leave it 24 hrs to be sure.

My £200 dropped in today. Waiting to see if RBS and Ulster pay out now.
