Ah well, the tip about cold feet was just something I picked up elsewhere. DH runs hot most of the time and I run cold. I absolutely love to cuddle up close and suck all the heat out of him, but he complains that he overheats if I do that.

We have a silk duvet, and it really works all year round, and for both of us. I can't understand it: he doesn't get too hot (unless I get too close!) and I don't get cold.
I know the feeling. We’re the same, I’m the “hot bod’.  When I had my menopause I was super hot. We were visiting friends one day. It was winter. The other 3 had woolly jumpers on, I sat in a tee shirt :D

We’ve had silk duvets for a few years now, I would highly recommend them.

Thanks @Humboldt.  I was asked if I wanted to try varifocals but declined. I tried them a few years ago and couldn't get on with them. I felt as if I was constantly walking uphill.  We are looking forward to Cornwall. Haven't been for a few years and never been to Mevagissey. In the past we have stayed in Padstow a couple of times and I love it there.  Especially Steins.  Got Dumfries and Galloway in 14 days time. Retirement is just a constant  round of pleasure.  :D
Morning @uralmaid such a positive way to end your response.

Morning everyone - hope you are all enjoying this mini heatwave.  This week we have been busy doing small jobs in the garden. Transplanting some clematis to grow on an archway by the front entrance, deadheading the daffodils and doing some weeding. It seems never ending here.  Hubby wizzed around on his new electric ride-on mower so he was happy. On Tuesday we went for a ride on the Batmobile down to Boston, to take back a motorcycle helmet which I bought last week but decided wasn't comfortable. Found a much nicer one - had to pay a bit more but it is definitely better quality.
Today we shall be sauntering down to the village hall to vote.  Then we have been invited by a friend in the village for homemade pizza and drinks.
The main MSE thing this week was a rockery plant for 50p and another gardening book by Dr D G Hessayon this time on Container gardening at a local car boot sale for £1.   I have quite a collection of his books and always look out for titles I haven't got yet. They are a bit dated now but still have very useful information.

Hope you all have a great weekend whatever you plan to do.

Morning @uralmaid how was your trip to Scotland?

We had heavy rain overnight, which the garden was desperate for.  It now looks refreshed and more vibrant.  I also have a clematis to transplant.  It is a freebie that has grown alongside the mother plant.  You did well buying a rockery plant for 50p.  I love a bargain plant and car boot sales are a great place to find them. Thanks for the book recommendation.

Enjoy the BH weekend, whatever you are doing.  DH is working most of it, but we are visiting family for a day to celebrate a birthday.

Hi @Humboldt sorry for the late reply.  Been busy.  Scotland was good thanks.  This last weekend our Yorkshire friends were here for the bank holiday.  Had a lovely time.  Hope you enjoyed the weekend.

Morning @uralmaid great to read that you enjoyed your trip to Scotland.  Years ago we had a holiday in the Highlands of Scotland and it was such a stunning area.

You maybe pleased to read that DH and I have finally finished the panelling in the hallway.  We are thrilled with the results, and we have enough materials remaining to do the same on the landing upstairs.  My job this week is to paint it.  It is so good to have the time to undertake these jobs and to save money by doing so.  In addition, we are actually learning new skills, which is always a good thing.  Members of the family have suggested that we do something similar in their homes, but I'm not sure we enjoyed it that much!

Well done @Humboldt.  Glad it all worked well for you.  Haha - just ignore the family members - but offer to teach them how to do it for themselves!!  He the weather is horrid today - strong winds and rain. Not liking it at all after the ward weather we have been having.  I managed to get all my garden pots planted up last week but because of the weather they are growing like mad.  Hpefully the weather will be good for our trip to Cornwall in a couple of weeks.

Morning @uralmaid the weather hasn't been so good here either, but the garden was thankful for the rain.  I moved my plant pots into a sheltered corner to avoid the worst of the blustery winds. Sunshine today and the washing is on the line. I think that we are due some more warm weather, hopefully just in time for your trip to Cornwall.  I am trying to find time to research a few nights away, S@wdays always have some stunning holiday accommodation in beautiful locations.  Enjoy your day.

Hi @uralmaid how was your weekend?  DH and I visited a local garden nursery today.  It has a vast array of plants and at very reasonable prices.  I bought 3 x marguerites for only £1.20 each, a garden fern at £2.20 and 3 x yellow lupins for only £2.20 each. Granted, they are in small pots, but will grow soon enough.  The added bonus is that they are all perennials, so fingers crossed, should last a few years.  I hope that you are enjoying time in your garden and your DH is putting his new sit on mower to good use.
