Hi @uralmaid that hat is a work of art! Thanks for sharing.

Sunshine, blue skies and a cold wind here today.  Just doing a bit of meal preparation for the Indian meal that we are cooking for friends this evening.  So looking forward to seeing them.

Been sunny here today - just starting to cloud over.  Been moving large rockery stones today.  This afternoon has been spent making Rocky Road, Almond Tarts and Chocolate Buns as my daughter is coming over tomorrow.  I always do some baking for her to take back with her for the family.

Having shifted the rockery stones, I hope that you were pleased with the results.  I need to make time to plant my seed potatoes this week, as well as preparing the kitchen/diner for repainting.

What a lovely selection of baking for your daughter and family.

Hope that you have a good week and that this nice weather continues.

Haven't got them put into their new positions yet as been busy with other things. Hopefully this week. Fingers crossed you get the kitchen/diner prepared. It seems to be moving along nicely. The weather today has been rubbish - quite dark and drizzly, but the forecast for the rest of the week looks a bit better.

I have rampant insomnia and listen to audiobooks which usually but not always helps, they turn off automatically after 20 mins and then you have to go back a bit to continue, so  I find its best to listen to books I already know the plot of.

That is exactly what I do.   My favourites are Harry Potter and Jane Austen.   :D

I need to get a couple of books to take on holiday. Will pop to my local bookshop next week.

Today I completed a few "clubcard challenges". I haven't really bought anything I wouldn't normally buy and pleasingly I've bagged an extra 2850 clubcard points.

As I have an easyJet holiday balance to pay off I intend converting these and my existing clubcard vouchers (£12) to easyJet vouchers worth a total of £81.

    Not bad at all.

Don't forget your local charity shops @Organgrinder.  You can often pick up almost new books for very little money and the charity benefits too.

Hi @uralmaid, hope all is well with you?  I finished painting the kitchen/diner last week and this week intend to give the kitchen cupboards a good spring clean.  My next project is to paint the stairs, but I need DH to sort some type of rail and possibly panelling before I can make a start.  Given I currently have him working on some shelving in a large kitchen cupboard, I may have a few weeks rest bite. I also need to think about how the heck I will reach the top of the walls on the stairs. I have an extendable roller, but need to keep a straight edge at the top (can you tell I've not done stairs before?).

Not many Welsh language books there I'm afraid.

I enjoy short stories and the series "stori sydyn" is great for me. They're only £1 each too.

Hi everyone. Been a bit busy the last week.  Hope you have solved the conundrum of the paintwork @Humboldt.  It has been a spendy week this week.  We decided to get a (new to us )car..  My hubby loves making lists so he was in his element.  After weeks of looking we decided to get a  brand new 4x4 Duster.  Worked out all the extras we wanted etc.  Went to the showroom ready to order but wanted a test drive.  There was no demonstrator car . The salesman said he would let us know when one came in (took our details etc) . After hearing nothing for 10 days, I rang them again. A different chap and effusive apologies - said he will get back to us. 4 days later - nothing. In the meantime I saw a different car. We went to look and test drive it and agreed the sale. It's a Cupra (1 year old) and has lots of extras. Hubby is not thrilled at the extra road tax we have to pay for the next 4 years though.   I took great pleasure in telling the Duster man when he finally rang 4 days later - not to bother as we have purchased something else.
Then we also needed to purchase a new ride on lawn mower. Our current one is 15 years old and went bang this week. Unfortunately the company desn't make them any more.  We decided we would go for one that wasn't quite as top spec as the old one.  Got it delivered - hubby did a test cut and pronounced he hated it.  Too loud, very strong vibrations and other things. So back into shop and found a different one.  More expensive (of course)  but a plug in electric/battery one so much quieter and no vibration. Heigh ho.
On Sunday we met up with a group of 6 bikers all who have the same make as us (Can Am) and went for a tootle to Skegness - it was an impressive sight when they were all parked on the esplanade. Have a good weekend everyone.
