Ah well, the tip about cold feet was just something I picked up elsewhere. DH runs hot most of the time and I run cold. I absolutely love to cuddle up close and suck all the heat out of him, but he complains that he overheats if I do that.
We have a silk duvet, and it really works all year round, and for both of us. I can't understand it: he doesn't get too hot (unless I get too close!) and I don't get cold.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
@Savvy_Sue - it sounds like you have the right balance.1

@uralmaid good to read that your daughter is feeling better. Oh to have a real potting shed....
@bluenose1 fluffy socks are an absolute necessity during the colder months. I too find reading calms my head before bedtime, especially when accompanied with a camomile tea.0 -
I struggle with sleep too. I fall asleep easily but seem to wake up every 2-3 hours.
I listen to podcasts, there are some really good ones depending on your likes and dislikes.1 -
Well what a start to the week. Decided we needed to go into our local market town for a few things. We have our Yorkshire friends coming to stay for a couple of days. Walking on the pavement when suddenly I tripped and fell. Went down quite heavily but luckily had a thick winter coat on. Managged to put my hands down but it ripped my gloves. Both hands were really painful. Also my neck now really stiff and some aches and bruises down one side. Hubby was walking just behind me and couldn't do anything to stop me falling. I felt so embarrassed. I was also more concerned that I may have damaged my new Vivienne Westwood handbag. Luckily it was unharmed. Of course lots of my friends and family came on to say it comes under the statement "you've had a fall" as they sometimes say to "old people" and "a bit early for a drink". This caused much merriment. It was only 10am and very rarely drink alcohol just cos I don't like it. The age thing, I am not commenting on!! Hubby took a photo of the pavement and there was a mound in it where it has been filled but not much point in trying to raise a complaint.
Anyway - hopefully the rest of the week will be more pleasurable. Got to bake a chocolate and cherry gateau on Wednesday morning as I am hosting a meeting for our village gardening club. Then friends coming Thursday til Saturday. Need to decide on dates for our little trips away in the motorhomes. Hope everyone has a good, safe week.0 -
A fall is a shock to the system @uralmaid, easy done, hope the aches and pains go soon, though if my similar experiences are anything to go by may take a week or two.At least your Vivienne Westwood handbag is safe.
Sounds like you have a lovely week planned and your gateau sounds delicious.Money SPENDING Expert0 -
Thanks @bluenose1. Not feeling quite as sore but it shakes you up.0

Gosh, not good. Hope you're ok.0

@Organgrinder - yes I am fine thanks. Jut a bit bruised and stiff.1

Oh it really does shake you up, doesn't it? Out with one of my siblings the other day, they just sort of sat down while going down a staircase! Not sure how, they said they were fine, just missed the step somehow, but it had made the wrist they broke right after Christmas a bit sore again ...Signature removed for peace of mind0
