Morning @uralmaid my goodness you have been busy.  What has happened to customer service these days?  We did a similar thing to a VW salesperson a few years ago.  No doubt your new lawn mower will provide years of service, so it's worth getting something that you are happy with rather than having doubts gnawing away in the background. The weather has been perfect for a seaside visit.  I'm still thinking about how I am going to redecorate the staircase, but may just have an idea ...

Weather here has been brilliant.  Spent the last 3 days in the garden , digging out a bed and making a new rockery.  Ooh the ideas are the best bit - and then once you have decided - get it done - no time to cogitate. :D

Happy Easter @uralmaid hope that you are enjoying the long weekend.

We have decided to fix a dado rail to the stairs and having taken a wrong turn in the rabbit holes provided by P!ntrest, may even be considering panelling below the rail.  Measuring up and costing has been completed, just need to get DH and a friend to sort before I can paint....this may take some time.  Meanwhile, I am enjoying my summerhouse.

I had a summerhouse erected last November. I am waiting for my youngest Daughter's fiance to put the coating on (cannot remember the name of the product). I bought a jute rug, a small 2 chair set with cushions and table to go in it, the table has a glass top. I have put my small retro cordless radio on the table and a small nautical tea light holder from N.xt. I fancy some bunting on the back wall. It is a nice spot for a quiet read when I get chance

Hi @Humboldt. Had a nice Easter weekend. Nothing too tiring. lol.  Hope you did too.

Like the idea of the panelling.  It's fatal doing research. All sorts of things become "interesting".

Me and hubby both went for eye tests yesterday and have chosen new frames.  In the interests of moneysaving I had new lenses put in a pair of Vivienne Westwood sunglasses which I already had.  I then chose 2 new pairs of glasses 1 pair  really out there Vivienne Westwood (for posing in) and 1 pair DKNY for every day.  I thought they were all a bargain as the total cost for all three items was £220.  I suppose others may not think so. :D  Finally got round to having my hair trimmed (hasn't been done since June last year) and managed to book another holiday.  Going with friends on the new motorcycle trike to Cornwall.

@sheilavw - your summer house sounds just the place for a cosy read. Bunting would be nice too.

Sounds a good deal to be honest.

I hate having to pay for what is in effect something I could not live my life without. I use Asda opticians. £120 for two pairs with high index varifocals. £160 I think for designer frames. So your £220 seems spot on imo. :-)

Morning @sheilavw I loved the description of your summerhouse.  Mine is a few years old now.  It has been painted twice and the roof felt has been replaced a couple of times.  It is my happy place and I just love it.  It acts like a hide, in that I feel immersed in the garden and can watch the wildlife without them being too bothered.  I wish you many happy hours in yours.

Hi @uralmaid we had a great Easter weekend thanks.  I need to book eye tests for DH and myself.  On my last visit to the opticians, varifocals were mentioned for the first time, so I may have to try them.  Considering what you got, I think that you did well in terms of price for your branded specs. I hope that you have a fab time in Cornwall.  I have fond memories of holidays in Cadgwith Cove when our children were much younger.

Thanks @Humboldt.  I was asked if I wanted to try varifocals but declined. I tried them a few years ago and couldn't get on with them. I felt as if I was constantly walking uphill.  We are looking forward to Cornwall. Haven't been for a few years and never been to Mevagissey. In the past we have stayed in Padstow a couple of times and I love it there.  Especially Steins.  Got Dumfries and Galloway in 14 days time. Retirement is just a constant  round of pleasure.  :D
