I went to bed really early last night, and got up early. I have shaken off my headache thank goodness, as I have lots of hospital stuff for my brother this week.Got on with batch cooking - chilli and meatballs in tomato sauce done, a batch of lemon and lime curd done (lots of citrus in a veg box a couple of weeks ago) and venison stewing slowly in the SC for a pie. Used up lots of things, so all good. Apart from a chicken, which I will cook on Tuesday, that will be plenty of meals for the next couple of weeks, with veggie options in between. When it is all cool I will decide what will go in the freezer, and what can stay in the fridge for eating sooner. No plans for spending today, so this will be NSD#3I have put the boxes of stuff to be disposed of back out on the front wall with a help yourself sigh, as it isn't raining, and hopefully some of it will be taken by passers by.I have to pick up my brother this afternoon, as his hospital appointment is early tomorrow, and I don't need to tackle traffic in my town, his town and the hospital city all together! He is having his first chemotherapy and immunotherapy tomorrow, so we will have to see how he feels after that, whether he wants to go home to his flat, or stay here. In any case, I will go to his flat and have a good tidy up and change the bed tomorrow once I have dropped him off.13

I've been downstairs. Washing came in, washing went out. Have washed the last of the things that snapped the line (dark brown throw). Asked DS3 to pick up the pizza boxes, which he did but handed them all to me and then followed me all the way into the kitchen. He had no shoes on so couldn't go out to the bin so I did that and added bricks to squash the contents down but told him he could stand by the back door and hand me the bears and bunnies from the WM to peg out one at a time. A further load of washing has gone in and several nearly dry dresses are hanging up around the house.
I asked DS3 to bring down 2 bags of paper craft (mainly paper and card) from the top of the stairs the next time he went to the bathroom. I sat at the bureau and shuffled the cubby hole contents and then decanted the two bags of paper and card into the bureau cupboard and a little set of drawers that sit on top.
I tackled a pile of bags in the kitchen and squeezed all the remaining washing up into one very full bag. Filled a carrier bag with rubbish (most of the bags had come down with mixed pots and recycling, some recycling didn't go out straight away and I'm not rescuing things that are furry inside). A bag of paper out and 2 more part filled, 2 bags of cans and another 4 emptied bags for life (and more kitchen floor visible). Ate leftovers and a rm I had noticed in the bottom of their freezer (when their last order came they used all the available space and all the interesting stuff ended up in the tall freezer and I was left with 3 bags of frozen peas and the fish).
I've used a few 5 minute breaks to just sit quietly in the yard and when I was bringing the washing in there was a butterfly (possibly a moth) perched next to one of my pegs - it was beautifully detailed but all in shades of dark brown and grey.. I've also told DS3 that the tub under the sink (catching a slow drip) needs emptying.
He's also announced he doesn't want a mortgage (wait till I tell him what a commercial rent on that house is). This also leaves lots of future problems when I die.
Lots of me is hurting so I've retired upstairs. I am going to finish my book and watch the concluding part of my serial. I've asked the neighbours for the phone number for their gardener (again) as the yard at grandma's house needs clearing.
Grateful for getting stuff done, listing some of the next stages to be tackled.and doing well with water consumption and less caffeine.11 -
Glad you are feeling better Dawn and hope your day goes as smoothly as it can tomorrow.
Am pleased with how much I got done before I needed to get on the train to head off for work for a few days. These will be very low spend as long as I reclaim expenses. Please feel free to prompt me on this!
Second olio collection and distribution done, have stocked up dad with some bread and cakes! Some new people requesting things so that is good, I must ask for some more flyers.
Dads paperwork done to extend driving licence. Least said about that the better.
Panto got back to me and have altered seats so he will be more comfortable, no charge.
2 loads of washing done, and drying in conservatory, will have clean bedding when I get back.
Sorted out both fridges, popped bananas and some l/o pasta sauce in the freezer as they won't keep until I get back. Turned off all appliances apart from fridge freezer at my flat.
Dropped off olio and briefly saw cousins on way to big town for the station.
Picked up shelves from homebase, buying through click n collect meant that my cashback tracked, I couldn't use work discount card as it was already on sale Dropped that into my house for lodger to put together at her convenience. Gave her a lift on route to station.
Will get petrol allowance and car parking covered by work if I remenbet to reclaim. Have emptied car of everything useful as it still has a plastic windscreen!
Now settled in with my olio-supplied avocado roll and blueberry muffin, and my bought from home cuppa, to enjoy an extended tour of SW England as a result of many rail diversions.

@grandmanerd!
The bungalow next to mine was a private rent for a few years & the rent was way higher than my mortgage even at it's very highest. I understand it's difficult for your DS. Hi Turtles
Had a spend day today so still on NSD#2
Been what my daughter most for the day, absolutely lovely, we went to a large shop and bought paint and looked at shelving, and also to look at tellys. I haven't had a telly since 2010 - literally no idea about them! DD put the 1st coat of paint on in my larder. I made a roast, after some grocery shopping.
Grateful for
- being close to my daughter and being able to see her once a week if not more
- filling the freezer with buy 2 get 3 fruits and veg 3 times! The freezer has been empty, which I understand od not good!
- the dishwasher - gifted to me by the vendor.
Sending good wishes to you all.

Slow start to the day, didn't get up till nearly 10. Lovely walk with miss giddychops and a very proud lady she was carrying her stick home. She generally carries a stick back from our walks every day, eventually we will have a fires worth.
Sowed future ingredients - basil, chillies, peppers, onions and aubergines. Compost was a mix of shop bought compost (leftover from last years) and our own. Cut some plant labels from old marg tubs. The cells were been thrown out by another allotmenter so I brought the home. Nothing wrong with them.Ended up cutting an old bed sheet(pings off the corners) for rags.Meal plan done with what's available at the plot, freezer and cupboards in mind.Bonus of having hot flushes mean I keep turning the heating down or off. Another nsdGrateful for1. Growing season has started2. Leftovers for lunch and tea (couldn't face cooking today).3. Improvements in my health.Love 🐞
