Just popping in on the way to bed!
NSD today, barely left the house apart from to go to the other house. No jobs done for myself in either really, but I did make it through a long working day and boss is happy with my progress. Spoke to some great new colleagues too
Gym session was ok. Strength improving but cardio not so much. Loved the new @grandmanerd sports bra
Submitted delay repay yesterday for a delay that was a minute over the minimum delay for payouthad the email today to say £6.55 on its way, not to be sneezed at!
Have booked work travel for early next week, am going to see how zonked I am tomorrow before I see if I can fit any socialising with friends nearby my route/destinations. Possibly, possibly not. Need to pace myself.
Am up early for olio, gym, and to my cousin's for a joint cooking session which should set dad up with some roast spuds etc for the week ahead.
Have identified a shelf unit on sale in homebase at the moment which would fit perfectly in an awkward space in the loft room at my house. Need to investigate buying things through cashback sites, as I don't really get what I need to do for that. Any advice is welcome!

Had a lovely anniversary yesterday. Glorious sunshine, lots of walking, lots of birds and DH got chance to checkout the next piece of hedge he will be laying with students in the next month. Did spend money in the rspb shop, glad we took a picnic to keep costs down.Called via the in-laws as fil has been diagnosed with angina and needs his antique stents changing. Which explains his tiredness etc. So our plans will have to put on hold or made to accommodate potential future changes. Definitely going to have to do more at the allotment.
Tea was jacket potatoes done in the fire pit and mulled wine.Grateful for1. A wonderful DH he's a keeper2. It didn't rain3. Not getting caught up in the family drama.Love 🐞

Mental Health Reminders
Make time for yourself and take breaks
It's okay to have bad and unproductive days
You deserve love, care and support
Allow yourself to feel, don't ignore and hide your feelings, try to hear and accept them
Listen to your emotions and what they are trying to tell you
The same good you see in others is within you too
It's okay to have days when the only thing you do is survive
Trust yourself, the journey that you are on and that things get better
Simplicity does not one day simply arrive
You must minimise now, remove what is unused and unnecessary,
seek nothing more than a deeper connection with what is here
(Brendon Burchard)
All you have to do is start
And the rest will follow as it's meant to be
And some days will be hard
And some days will be beautiful
Whatever comes next will just be part of this beautiful, messy life
(Fiorenza Art)
Whenever you are creating beauty around you, you are restoring your own soul
(Alice Walker)
Nothing I accept about myself can be used against me to diminish me
(Audre Lorde)

Thank you for adding me to the list Grandmanerd and the February challenge.
I’ve lurked for years, joined in with challenges and remember when ninja saving Kat started this thread.
Last year was tough and I’m not getting any younger so decided to come out of the shadows and take on the challenge. There is so much on that list I need to work on.So far since January I meditate daily, mornings are best for me I realised, record 3 gratitudes or positive things before sleep, and do one thing on my long frog list, start if not complete.I’m aiming for 14 nsd as my freezer and cupboards are full, just milk and veg to buy, I’m don’t usually have a budget as I just try to spend and buy less and use what I have, but I can’t resist a YS or bargain if I have room and it will be used.I’m gluten intolerant so its homemade for most dinners, granola and cakes and biscuits, mostly YouTuba recipes. I make milk Kefir and take vit D which I find makes a huge difference to my mood especially in the darker days of winter, topping up with a walk in the sunshine.my first Spend day yesterday as I needed milk and onions, I try to avoid shopping at the weekend or busy times.
Gratitudes:
Turtles
my lovely warm hat to wear.
sunshine.I love MSE, Thank you to all who share their journey and knowledge to reach their goals and live a good life on a small income.
2025 will be a year of necessary challenges and changes, and closing some doors permanently that don’t serve me or are not in my best interest.15 -
welcome sweetbriarrose. 'start if not complete' is a great phrase for tackling unwieldy frogs, of which I have many. I'll remember that, thank you!
Glad you had a lovely anniversary ladybird, jacket potatoes in the firepit sound fantastic.
I was unusually awake at about 530 and couldn't get back to sleep. Popped a load of washing in, opened the curtains and the window, found a bird song recognition app on my phone and enjoyed listening to the birds, drinking a cuppa, and reading a thread on here linked to retirement and pensions - I have much to learn. Am now on my second load of washing, have been to the gym, done the olio collection and listing, and am spuddling about doing a few 5 min things while I wait to leave for my cousin's. think I might need a snooze later on!
wise words as ever grandmanerd!

A bit of a late start this morning for me - as a huge rugby fan I watched the first game of this year's Six Nations tournament last night and my brain wouldn't stop buzzing afterwards! Looking forward to this afternoon and a couple more matches but well jealous of DH who has been invited to one of today's fixtures by an old school friend of his. He's trotted off in his flat cap to catch the train into the city and I've told him to send me photos!
I cleaned 50% of the bathroom yesterday and will complete it today, also catch up with ironing pile and prep a chicken curry for DH and DS for tomorrow - not my favourite task as a vegetarian but needs must.
Wishing all Turtles a peaceful and productive weekend xx13 -
Weather still terrible. Not so much wet but really gusty winds so we postponed going to book the seats until Monday.
So today has been occupied with lots of little five minute jobs but mainly I've been just relaxing.
Himself made lunch and is making dinner. My neighbour's son has just borrowed baking parchment and a mixing bowl and there's a Victoria sponge with my name on it arriving later.
Rugby just about to start so I'm off. Have a lovely evening. xxxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.12 -
I’ve enjoyed having most of the day to myself. OH and DS at football training and then a football match. I’ve pottered about the house, listed and sold a few items on V!ntd. OH has now lost 3.5 stone. And there seems to be a thriving larger man market on V!ntd going by the speed the clothes sold.Grateful today for making sales, for peace and quiet, and for the daylight stretching out.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸11
