  • I haven't weighed myself for a while as my weight was staying static over the past month and a half, today I weighed myself and am happy that I have finally started losing some weight again - 2 lb loss :D About blimming time too!

  • I thought they would be when you said a pack, believe me I have been there too that is how I remembered - learned the hard way although I don't think it really affected my loss if I recall, I think you get away with the odd mistake with healthyish food, not sure if it was chocolate you would though LOL. Although a lady in my group was having full size curly wurlys but only counting the syns for treatwise and she was still losing quite well, she was mortified when we all told her. And strictly speaking you can have 15 syns anyway so if I go over my ten I don't worry about it too much so long as it isn't every day. I hope you enjoy them anyway Loraine, the point of syns is to enjoy them, I know I would if it was me, yummy.

Mich - if it were me it would be SW every time, WW works but in my opinion only for small eaters. I was starving all the time, to me WW is a diet and SW is a healthy eating plan for life. You should never feel hungry on it. It doesn't matter what you join the key to success will be planning so have loads of free foods in the house and things that are easy to grab and go. A baked potato and beans is free on green so if you know you can do that at work or grab it locally that is a good option, even my local burger van did that when I was on SW while working. At home on a red day you could enjoy bacon and egg which is free, eggs always are and bacon is on red if all fat removed, using something like frylight to fry the eggs. What I like about SW is there are lots of really filling, satisfying foods on the free list as well as the usual suspects of veg. I eat those little pots of rollmops on a red day with salad and maybe some wholemeal bread and then have fruit and yog for afters, it really feels good to know it is a free lunch. I would also invest in things like the Alpen Lights which you can have 2 of as a Healthy Extra as these would be great for keeping at work for those "don't have time" moments. I keep a Hifi bar in my handbag/car for just these moments. You can even have synfree chips on a green day if you use the SW method of parboiling and them baking in frylight, you can enjoy them with a whole tin of baked beans and some eggs if you fancy. And you can easily make synfree burgers, make a batch up and keep them in the freezer for those moments when you just have to have one. There are some great ideas on the SW site (might be in the members only bit) for how to make fastfood the SW way, there is even a student area. We are probably all pretty biased towards SW but I have done both as have a few on here and most people wouldn't do WW again once they know about SW. HTH
  • AMIE399 That looks like a great day of food there

Skint_Catt Good luck for weigh in next week

Nessa56 Good luck at your first meeting tonight

lumpy_bum Welcome aboard, well done on your weight loss so far and good luck for later

mich1984 Welcome, what I do is make sure I always have plenty of fruit around, fresh and frozen and lots of different types so I don't get bored, whenever I feel hungry between meals I always go for fruit and I eat fruit until I no longer feel hungry.

When you eat things like Pasta, Rice, Couscous, etc, always go for the Wholewheat/Brown varieties, they are miles better for you and I find they fill me up more too.

You could try to make meals in batches and freeze them so that when you get in from work you just have to wack it in the microwave instead of preparing anything.

I find the quickest meals to do from scratch are stir-frys, I always have Quorn pieces in my freezer which I defrost and then bung in the Wok with various vegetables and some Blue Dragon Chow Mein sauce (3 syns for half a sachet), sometimes if I’m very hungry I have Egg Noodles with it too and they always do the job of filling me up.

Hi to the people who've just found the thread. I only found it a few days ago and I'm so glad I did.

    Had a good day today.

Breakfast was egg, quorn, tomato, beans and mushrooms
Lunch was pasta with vff fromage frais on the hoof
Dinner was chips and veg and bean chilli

I've had 2 squares of chocolate too. So basically I still have about 12 syns and all my healthy eating bonuses to left. So I'll probably have some porridge with mixed berries, followed by some rivita with cheese and marmite for supper. (I'm always hungriest in the evenings.)

Unless, do I HAVE to have both B options, even if I'm not hungry? (Though I probably will be!)
May all your dots fall silently to the ground.
