mumoftwo, we started at exactly the same time as each other. I feel like I've had a bit of a lightbulb moment too.
Another good day today. I was hungry for a while between lunch and dinner but I waited it out because I'm going to the pub later and want a half a bitter!
Thanks for the support everyone. I feel like a fraud to lose so much in the first week - but I'm breastfeeding a 1 year old so managing to fill up on healthy food instead of junk when I'm getting the b/f munchies seems to be making a difference!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
Missmasseffect - have just seen your total weight loss so far - that is fantastic :T How long has it taken you, if you don't mind me asking?
Tenmah
Thanks Tenmah, I have been doing Slimming World since February 07 so it has taken a year to lose 4 stone 7 lbs, I also have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome which is meant to make weight loss more difficult but following SW has made it possible for me, although I do a lot better when exercising too.
I was put on Xenical by my Doctor in 06 but I hardly lost any weight and it gave me horrendous stomach aches so I quit it after a few months and started SW in Feb 07, I have found it really easy to stick to and would recommend it to anyone.Following the Slimming World Plan and Exercising
* * Weight lost since 2007 = 7 stone 3 lbs * *
13 lbs still left to lose

can anyone help me with what they do to curb their chocolate cravings?
also for some odd reason i've had 'star' week or ladies week as i call it lol twice in 4 weeks and i only need to be 3ft of chocolate and i can smell it :@
help!! lolIt only seems kinky the first time.. :A0 -
Hmmm choc cravings are a toughy, well you can try having an Options hot choc although that never really works for me. You can also try the Alpen
Lights in Choc/orange flavour which are nice and 2 for a HEB, you can try mixing an options with quark or 0% Greek for a chocolate mousse. Depending on your willpower levels once you start you could have a treat size choccy bar, the Dairy Milk are 4 syns for the mini ones. You can also try putting the chocolate you do eat in the fridge or freezer so it lasts longer and try and wait for it to melt on your tongue. Do they still do chocolate Mullerlights? I haven't seen them in ages but they used to be handy for making desserts too for added choc flavour. Nature has played a cruel trick on you there though.
Gingham, are you having an extra healthy extra a day since you are still BF? I think by a year you are still allowed one and they prefer it to be an A choice but I don't think it has to be. By the way well done on continuing to BF for so long, that is a real achievement. I think I managed 3 weeks and had to give up but I will be demanding more support next time I can tell you. I lost my backbone at the birth last time i think and jsut accepted what I was given which wasn't much.
MME that is such a great achievement in a year and against the odds, you should be truly proud of yourself.0 -
Can't remember who asked about syns for lemon curd now and my PC is really slow at loading pages tonight as DH is downloading something which is snarling it up so apologies for not bothering to find out who:
Lemon curd 1 level tspOriginal ½ Syn
Green ½ Syn
Which is actually less than I thought it was so Woohoo, will be having this much more now, I also think the mix would freeze well for a nice dessert that would last that bit longer, well I am a pig and it was sooo nice it lasted seconds. 0 -
Thanks. I didn't know I could have extra but I haven't been measuring my milk - just having what I need and I always have both my a choices as I felt I probably needed the calcium.
I'm lucky I've not had any problems b/f and I had a very supportive midwife who gave me all the help I needed first time round AND again with my second.
I'm finding chocolate a NIGHTMARE. You can have 28g of non branded choc for 7 syns. My scales aren't great, but that seems to be 6 squares of Morrisons own brand choc (with the baking stuff.) If you freeze it, it lasts longer. Make sure you are sitting down with no distractions and take your time with it so you KNOW you've had it!
Darn it. 7.5 syns. It's 7 syns if it's dark, but I like milk.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
Well at least it is there if you need it Gingham, guilt free you can have it if you ever run out of HEs, I could often do with a third b choice.0

those chocolate options i cant stand its like drinking a weak chocolate flavoured water... oh hang on.. it is!! lol the chocolate in the freezer sounds like a good idea that would take me at least 30 seconds instead of the usual 10
who created chocolate?? its not fair lolIt only seems kinky the first time.. :A0 -
Totally agree Options are vile, it is what everyone suggests though for choocy cravings but I think I would rather not bother than have them, they need a good slug of milk in them too. Oh had another useless thought - they do chocolate snack a jacks too don't they? If you fancy some styrofoam along with your chocolate.0

yeah!! Had my lemon curd with yoghurt and banana, really nice!! thanks for the syn count poodlehorse, I did find it online.
I am stressed and want to eat!! But I am not going to, it won't help anyway, will be going to bed soon.. I don't mind Options but the list of ingredients are not nice reading.. and I just want to eat real chocolate after that!!
Hope you all had a great day.. :dance:0
