I lost 1lb and I am afraid I am disappointed with that. I shouldn't be I know but I was soooo good all week and really thought I would have lost two

Funny how when I do something a bit naughty in the week I tend to lose reasonably well and the week I am an angel I get smaller loss.

A 1lb weight loss is good, you should be pleased and proud of yourself. Take a carrier bag and fill with tins from your pantry to the weight that you have lost to date. Carry it around with you for a while and you'll soon see how much eavier it is than you may think.

As to losing better on a 'naughty' week - this often follows a 'good' week where you've not lost what you feel you deserve, but weight loss is a funny thing and can often take a week or so to catch up with you. So it will look as thought your 'good' week didn't produce the results when in fact it did, but won't show till the week after IYSWIM ;)

I hope everyone is keeping a record of their measurements as well, since the Slimming World plan often results in inch loss even when the scales aren't moving - it can keep you motivated when you may otherwise lose heart.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
  • Cooked fruit has a syn value because it takes far more of the whole fruits to satisfy the appetite.....for instance if you wanted a bowl of stewed apple it would take several apples to produce a fairly small bowl of the stewed stuff. You miss out on the peel, which is where the fibre is and it's much easier to eat so you also miss out on the 'chewing' which actually helps you to feel full.

In the case of your blueberries, if you're only having a handful anyway, it wouldn't really make a difference, so eat them and enjoy!

Thats really useful to know - thanks!

  • Thank you C31. That is really helpful and you are quite right of course. Feeling a lot better today so right back on plan after last night's overindulgence. Think I was just too tired and hungry and hadn't planned what I was going to eat when I came home and DH knew how I was feeling and didn't think to move and make me something healthy or help put the shopping away, either one would have helped me at the time but I got the shopping away and just pigged. To be fair the sauce was syn free as I made it earlier and the cheese would have been about the amount for a HEA so it wasn't half as bad as it could have been. Even my pig outs are getting healthier LOL. Off to make some syn free chilli but will have to syn the rice as I am on a red day and just fancy chilli.
  • I just made the lasagne crisps and they weren't too bad. Put too much salt on tho and next time would like to try them with just parmesan on. Can deffo see how they could calm a crisp craving.

Wahoo Gingham Ribbon. :j: 6 lbs that is marvellous, you must be very pleased!!

I bought some Scan bran today.. They don't look very appetising.

How many am I allowed as a HE b? and is that on both red and green?(couldn't find it in the book)

What shall I put on it? very low fat cottage cheese to make it a bit more 'wet' in your mouth and less like you're eating cardboard?

Poodlehorse: lemon curd in 0% greek sounds bliss, how many syns in a teaspoon? Will have to buy a jar of that tonight..with fruit, that will be so lush.. I can't believe I am not hungry either Gingham ribbon, and I have been able to stick to this diet for 8 days now, longer than I have been able to any in the last couple of years. But I think I have had the lightbulb moment.. watch this space.....
  • You're allowed 5 Scan Brans as a HEB, that's on both days.

I used to eat them a lot but haven't had them for ages now, I always had Banana on mine which was yummy and made them not so dry.
