Wow! Well done to all of you!!
Hostie, thank you for your detailed reply.
I've decided to cut out the mullerlights and also the danone longer satisfaction and go back to my homemade yogurt instead with some Stevia if i want it free or some jam or honey if i'm happy to use up syns.
So that will mean that the only processed foods i have are thise alpen lights, bovril and the odd diet drink, oh, and scan bran and nutella (synned of course). i hate processed food and try to keep off it as much as possible.
Like you i save my syns for the evening as that is when i normally get cravings.
Can i offer a tip for those of us who like wholewheat bread as a HE? i use my recipe for 100% wholewheat bread and shape the dough into 57g rolls or buns. Saves me having to weigh bread everyday and i can still have my presevative-free organic yummy bread.
Now, could someone please wave a magic wand and make my sourdough bread free or at least into a HE?
Regarding food budget...I aim for £200 a month for 2 adults and a toddler. On the whole, I do one red day a week and the rest are green. If I could figure out homemade bars to replace the alpen lights i would be much happier but i don't even know where to start! i love cooking but am no good at creating recipes.
BTW, is it just me or does anyone else find that yogurt used in hot dishes spoils things? I've never tasted anything hot with yogurt in it that didn't taste sour and fermented. How people can claim it makes a dish creamy is something I wonder at.
Lastly, what am i doing wrong with Frylight...it doesn't seem to stop things from sticking and it has a funny taste. Anyway, I have decided to empty the bottle down the sink and make my own non-stick spray:
2 tablespoons oil (or olive oil for olive oil spray) 1 cup less two tablespoons water"Finish each day And be done with it.
You have done what you could.
Some blunders and Absurdities have crept in.
Forget them as soon as you can."

What great losses for everyone
Well done to miss_phish, mumoftwo and LadyV1
I wonder how much weight we have lost between us now?0 -
Oh thanks npsmama. I love homemade bread, but thought it too difficult now with only having 57gr never thought of weighing the dough? Does the weight not change once it's cooked? More airy IYSWIM? Wow lady VI 6.5 lbs great start!
beany50, I love blueberries, I hate it that they are so expensive, great idea about freezing them, unfortunately I never see any bargains.0 -
I buy my blueberries from the freezer section, DS loves them with some icecream and they do make a lovely sauce as they defrost. Well I am no expert in the whole cooked fruit syns stuff but I think if you left them to defrost natuarlly they would still have a bit of "sauce" come out, I think it is more to do with the breaking down of cell walls when frozen so that they release a bit of their juices, so long as you are just defrosting and not cooking then I would think it would be fine. Your losses would certainly suggest so.
Well done to everyone on their excellent losses. I lost 1lb and I am afraid I am disappointed with that. I shouldn't be I know but I was soooo good all week and really thought I would have lost two but then again I haven't exercised and have been stuck in the house waiting for workmen and potty training DS. I should be grateful but I just cam ehome tired, hungry and cold and got stuck in the the pizza DS refused for tea and topped it off with a stumpy bottle of beer, oooooops. Back on track tomorrow morning. Funny how when I do something a bit naughty in the week I tend to lose reasonably well and the week I am an angel I get smaller loss. Although good news is that took me to my half stone award. Which means another 8lb to my club 10 and a stone to where I want to be. So I should be chuffed to bits, just built my hopes up too much I think. This week will be tough at the weekend though as DS has his birthday Saturday so there will be cake and I WILL be having some and since DH was away for Xmas and NY we will have a special meal that day too and maybe a glass of something special. He will miss Valentines as well it seems so we kind of have to pack all our year's celebrations into one day LOL.0 -
Hi
I know what you mean poodlehorse about being disappointed at losing a pound, but really you shouldn't be. It is a pound nearer your target weight.
You are doing so well - enjoy the beer and pizza. Then start again tomorrow!

Hi npsmama,
I am very interested in your bread!!!
I have three slices of weight watchers brown bread every day as my HEB because it is the only bread I can have three slices of. Can you have 2 of your wee rolls a day? How do you work this out? and lastly... could you let me know the recipe.
As for trying to work out how to make alpen bar things, I was going to start by using one of the daily cereal allowances such as bran flakes or something multiply it by the number of bars I want to make and then add something like a spoonful of honey or a tiny bit of cooking chocolate to hold them together. The honey or chocolate would be a couple of syns but it would be split between the bars. A free version would use sweetener but I am trying to avoid this. If anyone has any better suggestions let me know and I will work on it. Are any nuts free? I can´t find any24.06.14 12 st 12 lb (waist 45" at fattest part of belly)

i think fry light has a funny taste so if you use Baco release Foil (its about £1 to £1.25) nothing ever sticks to it it so you dont need any spray it really does work0 -
Hello
No Hostie, there is no way I will take the crown from Lady VI. I can't even imagine losing that much in one week!
Jeanette251978 Could I have the recipe for the leek and potato soup please, it sounds lovely and it would be nice to take something different to work for lunch.
Thanks
