    hello

Could you please let me know how to turn the avatars on. I have often wondered why I can't see them when people have mentioned them!

    Thanks
    Tenmah

Tenmah, if you look at the top of the page, there is a green banner, find 'User CP' click on that. On the left you see a list: click on 'Edit options', there will be whole list of things you can tick. at the bottom is thread display option: show signatures
    show avatars
    show images

Just tick the boxes and save changes and there you have it.
If you want to include your own avatar, click on 'edit avatar'

    Hope that helps

Well, second weigh-in this week and I'd lost 2.5lb, making a total of 12lb in two weeks!

I got Slimmer of the Week, and Slimmer of the Month for January (and I was only a member for one week in January!!).

    Very happy indeed :)

What a great start!! :T was it easy for you? Did you do a lot of exercise, share your secrets. what did you eat?

I love the idea of giving youself an angel for every day you have done well, lets see what I can use:

Thank you! No great secret really, I've been very well-behaved, but apart from some monster chocolate cravings, I've generally enjoyed the food and the way of eating. Not much exercise at all as I've got some physical health problems going on. Eating lots of quorn, eggs, veg and healthy extra cereal bars :)

thanks, yes, while reading the books in bed last night I discovered that on a green day you can have Quorn free! I think I have only eaten that once.. Are all Quorn products free or just the pieces and mince? What are they like? Is it tasty?
  • You can have quorn free on a red day too!

Not all of their stuff is free, but a lot is. It's tasty and healthy and filling!
  • Right girls, I need some help.

I am feeling very "bunged up" at the moment (sorry if tmi :o )

I really need some good foods to eat to ease this. I have my weigh in on Monday so I need to make sure I am not carrying to much excess - if you know what I mean-

I do eat lots of fruit but maybe there is a certain kind I should try.

    Thanks

    I am on 4 :A :A :A :A as I have been such a good girl.

    Hi Lillys Mum

I think the best thing to do about being bunged up is drink lots of water. Make sure you drink loads of glasses of water or, if you can afford it, buy yourself a big bottle of water 1.5 litres for example, and make sure that you drink it all in a day. Then refill it the next day and drink it again. This takes a day or so but will really help. (So if you start tomorrow you should be feeling the effects on monday lol and nice and slim for your weigh in. This is also a good tip if you have an event or something coming up as it fills you for a day but then slims you temporarily. It only works if you drink loads though.

Failing that why not have lentil soup (red lentils as no steeping required, carrots stock and water. boil for 30 mins ).

Plenty of fruit will also help. Kiwis are good for this I think.

I am very pleased as I lost 2lb:D It is the first time in my life I have managed to lose weight and it is the first time in my life that I have more or less stuck to a diet so I am delighted. :j

I was very naughty as some people might remember (very bad chocolate habit but the light cereal bars as HEB have helped) but feel totally inspired :D
I feel that I am getting the hang of this and will try to do better next week. I also love the idea of the angels but today don't deserve one as I am on 16.5 syns. I defaulted on my mortgage but only because I miscalculated how much I needed to put into the account. Was v. stressed and so had 2 G&Ts
    Feel v relaxed now!
Night night and have a nice weekend all.

Morning petal. Hopefully you're feeling better this morning, if not try one or some of these...
    • Hot water and lemon every morning before brekkie is one of the best things for keeping a sluggish bowel happy (it also helps people that suffer the other way too if you catch my drift!) it kickstarts the gall bladder, liver & the gut to get a wriggle on and is the best start to any day in my opinion. And your skin will love it too!
    • Exercise is the surest way to keep things moving - the gut is just another muscle and regular movement will work wonders. Try and fit a 30 minute walk in today if you can.
    • One of my friends swears by dried apricots, they work for her like prunes, ensure that you drink plenty of water to flush them through.
    • If it is causing you pain, discomfort or bad bloating massage the tummy with your right hand, or heel of hand, making the movement from right side of tum, to top, to left side to lower tum. Quite firm massage is great so long as its not uncomfortable. Oh, and best not do this when in polite company
    • Green foods are bursting with Chlorophyll (sp?), this reduces the acidity of the entire body and can make things easier long term. There are some great green supplements available which, although pricey, are worth their weight in gold if this is common for you. The MSE way is to ensure you eat tonnes of green veg, or even better sprouted beans.
    • Also there are plenty of teas and tisanes that ease a troubled bowel... Will dig out a list for you
I am happy to go into more details by PM if ya like - I wouldnt want to put anyone off their bran flakes.... :rotfl:
