  • Morning lovelies, i had a really good day yesterday (thank god!) so think i deserve a
    :A
PS I put on a dress today that i havent worn in probably a year (due to too much padding!) and i feel great in it! That has to be the best reason to keep going ever.

In true MSE style i was gonna sell some old books i had on WW but ended up flipping through the main cookbook and decided to keep it as the meals are all low fat and most can be adapted well.

Heres a recipe for sweetcorn chowder (soup!)

    FREE on green + 1 HE A
    Serves 4

Grill 2 red peppers till skin chars, put in plastic bag till skin comes away easily, remove skin when cool, chop finely.
Stir fry 1 chopped onion, 2 garlic cloves for 5 mins till soft (add water if necessary to stop sticking) Add half a 325g can of sweetcorn, 1 tbsp ground cumin, 1 tbsp ground corriander, 1 small chopped red chilli (optional), 1 pint of skimmed milk (HEA)and 1 pint of veg stock, bring to the boil then simmer for 5 mins.
Whizz in a blender till smooth, return to the pan, add the chopped peppers, rest of sweetcorn 3 diced potatoes, salt & pepper and simmer for another 20 mins.
Serve chowder with swirl of Total 0% or fat free plain yogurt.

    How good does that sound?!

  • Oh, and another one I was told about - Colcannon Cakes

Mash a load of floury potatoes, add chopped green cabbage & spring onions, an egg yolk, season, mix and leave in the fridge for 3 or 4 hours.
Then shape into burger shapes and fry or spray with oil and grill.

Gonna have them for tea with some Quorn sausages, will let you know if any good...

That'd be more than 1 HEA as 350ml is 1 Hea

going to write that one down though, sounds yummy! My group is having a soup tasters session next week, but I'll be away and miss it boohooooo!
  • Hi everyone!

I don't mean to sound flippant, and I've only been doing this for a few days, but I'm finding this diet ridiculously easy. I'm never hungry and according to the scales, I'm losing weight.

What is going on?!!! (And why didn't I do this a year ago?!)

  • My husband and I are doing it together with the help of MIL who goes to classes and had lots of literature to spare. I'm veggie so we're both sticking to green days.

Evenings used to be worst - I eat really healthily through the day, but I like pringles and chocolate! Now, I'm having a bowl of cereal or some rivitas and I feel full and happy and I already have much more energy!
