Lunches with no HEBs, what about keeping your HEBs for the other meals and synning some scan bran? They are only 0.5 syns each and I just had 5 as a HEB and to be honest I was quite full after 3 especially consdiering I was having half a melon for afters. Top with sardines maybe? Or you could use little gem lettuce leaves as little boats to hold perhaps tuna salad? I have to say the more I eat Scan Bran the more I am really enjoying it and it is meant to really boost WL so I am going for it this week, trouble is I have to drive nearly 30 miles to buy it and I didn't buy too many incase I didn't like it, looks like I need to go buy up all the stock in H&B next time I am through. I always find lunches tricky SW or not as I get bored of sandwiches every day. I guess you could bring a flask of syn free homemade soup to work, again a couple of SB or oatcakes wouldn't be too much to syn? I must buy cottage cheese to make a SW quiche with, I used to corned beef ones (when it was free) and pasta n sauce when I ate them but I could experiment with a few other flavours.0

I find green days easy for work lunches! I have mug shots or noodles (when I can get to the microwave), salads, egg mayo Nimble sarnies, or if I'm having Quorn or pasta for dinner I'll have my healthy b meat in a sarnie for lunch!

I used to make up savoury rice or pasta'n'sauce at home and put it in a lunchbox, I could eat it hot or cold although I did like a bit of tabasco on the pasta (my DH worked with a Texan that said there were only two things you shouldn't put tabasco on, one was icecream and the other Icouldn't possibly type here:eek:
), I had that most days during the week which is why I did green days mostly then and only did red at weekends. If I forgot my lunch I could pop out to the van for Baked Potato and beans so it was handy to do green. But now I am at home all day I find red is working better for me although I am quite often neutral until dinner, jsut call me Switzerland.:p

I find green easier for work too, wednesdays are a really long work day for me so yesterday i took a huge tub of cooked noodles with lashings of soy sauce, peas, sweetcorn and spring onions and for tea a raw potato to nuke at work with extra light triangles.
I feel a little bit back in control today, i thing it helped that i went shopping yesterday so have loads in again... Funny isnt it that when nothing is jumping out at you from the fridge you revert back to eating crap...
I have made a massive SW quiche with 6 eggs, last weeks left over fruit has gone into a huge fruit salad and i have lots of 0% yog too.
I am feeling more positive, i called my lass and we had a chat - she said she was the same with her period so just cut yourself some slack at that time but stay with it mentally rather than ditching the entire plan.
Thanks for all your kind words yesterday it was really helpful reading all your positive posts xxPiggypoints - 207+£10 * Quidco - £95 * Tesco - 1095 * Sainsbugs - 4237I SHALL be debt free!!!!!:D

Glad to hear you are back in the zone, I can't agree more with the fridge is bare let's eat crap thing. I do find myself doing a midweek shop to top up on essentials so I am never without the healthy stuff, it just gets on my wick when DH eats the last 0% yoghurt or something.LOL
I have a real urge for some biscuits right now, used up all my HEBs though so no Alpen bars today unless I syn them, might have one Hovis digestive and see if that kills the craving, I am not hungry just munchy. At 2 syns I could still have my French Fries and a treat size dairy milk at night, hmmmmm. Right off for a cuppa, !!!!!! Van Dyke is due on in ten minutes if DS will let me near the TV, I can hear him now"no not these guys mummy"0 -
Know what, I LOVE Mr Van Dyke and its times like this when i really miss not having a telly!!
My fella has ben rained off work today so we are having such a lazy one!! I'm addicted to boggle on facebook (now called Prolific) and we are competing against each other and the rest of the world. A total waste of a day but it is SO much fun!

Hi, me and OH are thinking about joining Slimming World but I wonder if you would be kind enough to answer a couple of questions for me.
Firstly we are both vegetarian - is it easy follow the plan for veggies?
Secondly I have had a quick look at their site and a lot of their suggested meals just would not suit us. Some of them use things like tinned mushroom soup or some pasta sauce thing and I never use these sorts of things - I cook from scratch.
You do seem to be able to eat a lot in one day - but the suggested breakfasts would not really work for us either. I could never eat a cooked breakfast - I like muesli or toast (are these okay?). OH rarely eats breakfast as he has to leave for work at 5.30am and cannot face eating that early. His problem is that he is so busy at work he either does not eat all day and eats a lot in the evening or just grabs something quick for lunch. He does not like sandwiches and does not have access to an oven or microwave.
Also what are red and green days?
Sorry to ask so many questions but we are loathe to pay out and then find it is not for us. It will be difficult enough making a meeting as OH can get home anytime between 6pm and 9pm!The world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie0 -
Hi Catkins, firstly red and green days wouldn't really aplly to you as you would be on green days only (red days you limit the amount of pasta, rice & potatoes but eat as much lean meat as you like)
A lot of the meals suggested are made form packet & tinned stuff and there are a few of us here who tend to (mostly) steer clear of these things too - there are tonnes of SW recipes that are cooked from scratch. In this case I owuld buy a couple of the green day cookbooks when you start so you have lots of ideas initially, you will quickly be able to adapt most of your current recipes.
Cooked breakfast are certainly not complulsory!!! Mushrooms or baked beans on toast are great but toast or muesli are both allowed in moderation.
Go on, jump in and join!Piggypoints - 207+£10 * Quidco - £95 * Tesco - 1095 * Sainsbugs - 4237I SHALL be debt free!!!!!:D

As an extra thought - why don't you both try and make it to the first meeting so that you both have some understanding of the 'rules' and then you go weekly on your own, then you can be in charge of what food is bought and cooked??Piggypoints - 207+£10 * Quidco - £95 * Tesco - 1095 * Sainsbugs - 4237
